Strategy Contribute to improved food and nutrition security, incomes and resilience of smallholders through cocoa, roots and tubers, and coconuts as the lead intervention crops in ACP countries Objective: Cocoa smallholders in Cameroon, Côte d Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria &Togo increase their income from cocoa and quality nutritional products while improving their resilience to risks and the nutritional status of their families R1: Business and technically skilled smallholders produce competitive cocoa and food. R2: Business services enhance smallholders investments in intensification and diversification and improve their resilience R3: Smallholders improve market access & incomes through organization, joint business operations, VC contract arrangements R4:National, regional and international strategy processes enhanced through pro-active participation and evidence-based lessons learnt regarding business approaches and links between cocoa & food Page 6

Strategy Key Deliverables Specific objective Cocoa smallholders in Cameroon, Côte d Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria &Togo increase their income from cocoa and quality nutritional products while improving their resilience to risks and nutritional status of their families. Indicators 1. 80,000 cocoa smallholders (at least 30% women) have increased their agricultural income by 30% over baseline while reducing their dependency on cocoa income to 70% through diversification (approx. 90% baseline) 2. Share of protein from diversified production in smallholder family diets at least doubled 3. Innovative approaches of the program on links between cocoa lead interventions, improved food and nutrition security and risk mitigation are integrated in private, national and regional strategies and plat-forms that promote cocoa sector and livelihoods Page 7
