1 Job Information Pack Position Summary Property Name: Property Summary: Awapai Station Awapai Station is a stunning property located in a secluded valley with wonderful views of the ranges. It is a family run farming business located 50km west of Hastings based in the WhanaWhana District. The farm is 2100Ha and is an intensive sheep and beef operation running 17,000su. The farm is mostly made up of easy hill country with some steeper slopes and some river terrace flats. This well-developed farm has earned a reputation for excellent results in farm management, animal performance and farm forestry. Job Title: Farm Manager Position Overview: Communicate closely with the Farm Owners Some financial control (buying and selling trading stock, animal health products, pasture-cropping etc) Budgeting responsibility sits with the Farm Owners but input is expected from the Farm Manager Employ and manage all staff Responsible for monitoring programmes (Farmax, stock reconciliations, daily Health & Safety, animal health and chemical records, Farm Assurance status, fertiliser records and cropping records etc) Must be computer literate with experience using Farmax, Excel and Provide input into farm policy on an ongoing basis Responsible for timing and the organisation of key farming activities ( shearing, cropping, scanning, plant and equipment maintenance etc. and contact with other contractors from time to time) Must be Hands On with an excellent team of dogs Specialist Skills Required: Excellent Stockmanship Pasture management/feed budgeting Strong eye for detail and production focused Page 1 of 5
