The agronomy of agricultural plants determines the efficiency of production systems. The potential of agricultural production systems is based on the anatomy and physiology of animals. Animal husbandry and management determines the efficiency of animal production systems. Possible learning experiences Define, describe and explain that plants and animals consist of cells, tissues and organs organised into specialised systems that carry out specific functions. Microscopic investigations of cells and tissues to identify and sketch organelles. Define, describe and explain the anatomical structures and physiological functions of plant and animal systems. Identify these in specimens. Explain the anatomical structures and physiological functions of plants and animals determine the nutrient requirements and efficiency of plants.
