Our unfair advantage is the comfortability and the quality of the medical tracking. Solution: Baby Side is a pregnancy monitoring system from home. Colonoscopy is the most useful tool for colorectal cancer prevention BUT it has a polyp miss-rate of 22%. Solution: ApoDec (Automatic Polyp Detection) consists in an intelligent automatic image processing tool that helps doctors detect and identify lesions during colonoscopy procedures. Our tool is can be easily integrated into currently used systems.

8 H20NOW Industry: Internet services Problem: Africa s water supply infrastructure is failing for a simple and avoidable reason: lack of maintenance. Solution: H2ONow wants to improve the access to drinking water in rural areas of Sub-Saharan Africa by leveraging new technologies. H2ONow services provides up-to-date information on the status of water wells available to each user. By collecting data from each well (sensors), the service is able to provide recommendations about which well to use for the daily water collection, the best time to carry out this collection and other relevant local news related to sources of water.

9 GATE2BRAIN Industry: Biomedical Research Problem: in drug development one of the biggest difficulties for drug candidates is reaching the brain, due to the blood-brain barrier (BBB). Solution: Gate2Brain is a platform for drug development based on peptide shuttles able to cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and carry therapeutic cargoes with them. Solution: a tool that can analyze large databases of Electronic Health records and provide exploration, deep analysis, knowledge and useful actions or policies. The tool lets managers explore insights and find patterns that help them create and evaluate health policies and recommendations, rationalize prescription, eliminate redundancies and waste, contribute to patient safety, elaborate and analyse future scenarios, among others. Healthcare agencies could therefore obtain large cost reductions while at the same time improving patient safety and quality of life.

12 ArthroFood Industry: Agrifood Problem: Overpopulation, increased urbanization and reduction in yield of the land for agriculture continue to put food security at risk. Conventional production of animal protein is not environmentally sustainable. Solution: an innovative food alternative that is environmentally sustainable, affordable and highly nutritious. The project consists in the organic breed of insects as a result of the hybridization of recent technologies, such as modified atmosphere packaged products, which are later on transformed into highly nutritious insect flour. This flour is a high protein alternative.
