2 ENHANCEMENTS DECEMBER 2009 The December 2009 release of Prous Science Integrity and BIOMARKERcenter is designed to further integrate the portal into the scientist s workflow by: Enabling users to quickly and easily consolidate bibliographic findings and integrate them into their citation management databases. Advancing the way users search, retrieve, display and export information within Integrity. Providing instant insight to key relationships among compounds, mechanisms, patents and pharmacology results. 2

4 ENHANCEMENTS DECEMBER 2009 Literature New export formats -- EndNote, Reference Manager and RefWorks facilitate integration of citations found in Integrity into user bibliography management databases. New bibliographic links take users to Web of Knowledge, including WOK Records, WOK Related Records, and WOK Citing Records. (Note: a Web of Knowledge license is necessary for access to full functionality.) 4

5 Three new reference export formats facilitate reference uploading into bibliography management databases: EndNote Reference Manager RefWorks 5

7 ENHANCEMENTS DECEMBER 2009 Patents Condition and Subject Matter have been added as search fields and Subject Matter added as a display field. Note: The Condition and Subject Matter fields are indexed for basic patent records in Integrity with a patent date of January 1, 2005, going forward. These fields will not contain information for patent records prior to Patents from 2005 going forward now comprise more than 50% of the patent records in Integrity. New charting (Filter by Statistics) options for Subject Matter, Condition and Compound Mechanism of Action offer insight into the patent literature and allow users to refine lists. 7

8 Condition and Subject Matter have been added as search fields. Subject Matter field allows users to search by patent type: drug substances, processes, targets, biomarkers, 8

9 Subject Matter has been added to the various display formats. Three new charts provide insight into relationships across data types: Subject Matter Condition Compound Mechanism of Action 9

10 ENHANCEMENTS DECEMBER 2009 Experimental Pharmacology The drug Mechanism of Action field has been added to the List and Structure Activity display formats and to export formats. New charting (Filter by Statistics) options for Drug Mechanism of Action and Reference Type provide enhanced usability and insight into relationships between mechanisms of action and the pharmacological activity studied. 10

13 ENHANCEMENTS DECEMBER 2009 Clinical Studies New charting (Filter by Statistics) options for Intervention Type and Reference Publication Year assist users in refining record sets as well as providing graphic insight into publication dates for clinical studies. 13

15 ENHANCEMENTS DECEMBER 2009 BIOMARKERcenter New search fields have been added to enable intuitive searching using drug names, mechanisms of action or genetic variations to retrieve relevant biomarker uses. Examples: Search for Product Links Retrieve biomarker uses that have been intellectually linked to a specific drug, a mechanism of action, product category or therapeutic group. Search for Genetic Variations Find biomarker uses that involve specific genetic variations such as polymorphisms or epigenetic changes. 15
