3 Letter of Authorization No Letter of Authorization on file - The utility requires a Letter of Authorization signed by the customer of record in order to discuss a customer account or provide information to a third party LOA

4 Rule 21 Interconnection Application Issues Missing or Incorrect information on the application - Application information, which includes certain documents such as one-line diagrams, site plans, etc., must be complete, consistent, and accurate (e.g., address, acct. #, meter #, equipment information, etc.)

5 Rule 21 Interconnection Application Issues Insufficient Copies, Missing One-Lines, Diagrams, Site Plans, Protection Information - Page 1, Part 1, Section C of the Interconnection Application specifies required documentation that must accompany the application

6 Rule 21 Interconnection Application Issues No Application Fee or Incorrect Amount - A complete application must also include a fee. - An applicant must request a CPR form and send the CPR with an $ check or money order payable to SDG&E separate from the application. DO NOT send the fee with the application!

7 Rule 21 Interconnection Application Issues Submitting Partial Applications - Incomplete applications (e.g. missing information) or partial submittals may be returned and may delay the review process

8 Rule 21 Interconnection Application Issues Project is altered; application information is not revised or updated - Changes in projects include, but are not limited to: change in contractor, contact person, phone #, addresses, change in design, equipment; project size etc. Significant project changes may require a new application and an additional $800 fee.

9 Rule 21 Interconnection Application Issues No Generator Output Meter (NGOM) - Generator output metering may be an option. If an NGOM is to be installed, drawings must show it. The NGOM should be grouped with the site s existing metering. Electrically, it must be placed between the generator and the electric load it serves.

10 Rule 21 Interconnection Application Issues No Accessible Disconnects - There must be a utility accessible disconnect on both the line and load sides of the NGOM. SDG&E requires a visible-open and lockable disconnect.

11 Rule 21 Interconnection Application Issues Failure to provide a Proof of Insurance certificate

12 Rule 21 Interconnection Application Issues Delay in providing information required to prepare final execution copies of the Interconnection Agreement (ICA) - The utility typically requires a completed draft ICA to be submitted, that includes all necessary customer information, before the utility can prepare two (2) final ICAs for execution.

13 Natural Gas Project Related Issues Missing or Inaccurate Gas Information - In order to meet the customer s timetable, gas information is required in a timely manner to properly size and or build the gas meter and complete necessary system upgrades

14 Natural Gas Project Related Issues No Non-Core Gas Service Request - If your generator requires natural gas to generate electricity, it qualifies for noncore gas services. - A Request for Noncore Gas Services must be completed electing core or noncore service before your meter set can be designed and built. - If noncore gas service is elected, a gas service provider must also be arranged. SDG&E no longer provides utility procurement services for new noncore gas accounts.

15 Natural Gas Project Related Issues SDGE Does Not Guarantee Gas Pressure - If your project requires high pressure gas, as with a turbine installation, a gas compressor is necessary!

16 Interconnection Misc. Information Typical Interconnection submittals must include: - Interconnection Application (6 copies) - Application Fee ($800.00, initial fee) - One-Line Diagram (6 copies) - Site Plans (6 copies) - Diagrams (6 copies) - Protection Information (6 copies)
