The power of C++ together with CDP infrastructure allow for implementation of advanced and complex control algorithms, while still maintaining a consistent architecture. Operations CDP allows efficient access to the control system for monitoring and configuration. Signals can be monitored in real-time and parameter settings adjusted, both locally and remote. Logging of signals, events and alarms are stored in a local database. Additional modules CDP Studio is a plugin-based framework. Latest ICD ICD Solutions Rolls-Royce Marine Rolls-Royce Marine delivers systems to a multitude of advanced vessels. This includes control systems for navigation, propulsion, handling, manoeuvering, tank leveling, anti-roll systems and more. All control systems are CDP-based. PGS PGS has made a helicopter landing deck control system with active roll compensation. The control system is CDP-based. CDP is used to control the deck movement for wave compensation in order to ensure gentle landing in wave conditions, which would previously made landing impossible. The decks are mounted on seismic vessels Ramfor Sovereign and Ramform Sterling belonging to Petroleum Geo Services ASA. PGS has made, also, several large knuckle-boom cranes with active heave compensation. All cranes have CDP-based control system. CDP is used to control winch movement for wave compensation in order to ensure gentle non-destructive handling of advanced and expensive subsea installations. This ensures that control system integration is very easy since, by using some of the many protocols supported by CDP, signals from CDP-based systems are available throughout the network and signals from external equipment can be integrated easily. CDP is, currently, the basis for somewhat more than 1500 control systems delivered by Rolls-Royce Marine alone. Many of these systems have been in operation for many years, running on rugged but affordable hardware. CDP systems do not require any special hardware and can use ordinary network cables or a multitude of industrial bus systems. EMGS EMGS has a fleet of seismic vessels for oil exploration services. All vessels have CDPbased winch control systems. CDP is used to control winches and wave compensation movement in order to protect fragile seismic cables and to ensure optimum placement of the cables in the water. The control systems manage, also, the HPU (hydraulic pressure units with pumps and motors) and communication with numerous other subsystems throughout the vessels.the user interface UPTIME International UPTIME develops, markets and installs motion compensated equipment like gangways and helicopter landing decks. ICD has delivered control systems for all UPTIME motion compensated equipment. The UPTIME Gangway allows the crew to transfer safely from the transport vessel to a fixed installation. With full motion compensation, it is possible to land delicately on any structure in difficult weather conditions. 7 Add-On Products Add-On Products Warning Remote Access Reduce Downtime with ICD Remote system Monitoring Maintenance Service Event Logger Add-On Products The Event Logger collects requested events. An event can be Alarm Status or Property Changes. All alarms and events trigged in the system will be stored in the database with unique ID and timestamps. If either an alarm occurs in the system or the operator acknowledges an alarm, the events will be stored in databases. Examples of events are: Alarm Error Alarm Notification Property Change Signal Logger The Signal Logger collects requested signals in a given frequency. The requested signal is setup in the signal logger application. The signal logger stores all data with unique ID and timestamps. The data from the Signal Logger can be helpful during fault finding and in analysing the system after possible hazard operation. Typical Signal to monitor: Load/ Tension Motors Winch Temperatures Movements Pressure Valves System States ICD control systems are prepared for remote access. All that is required is a VPN (secure) connection over a vessels satellite telecom system. This allows authorized specialists to monitor system behaviour from an onshore location as if they were on the vessel. If adverse behaviour is detected, a system specialist can diagnose the system to rectify problems, tune performance and identify components requiring replacement. System specialists can interact with onboard personnel in performance of physical tasks as relocating mobile equipment, maintenance or component replacement. All this without even setting foot on the vessel - saving time and money! Data Logging ICD Control System can be delivered with data acquisition for conditioning and analysing historical data. The DAQRecorder is highly configurable and can be used in combination with the Remote Access to easily access or download historical data for further analysis. This system can monitor any hardware component and any software routine in the system: Hydraulic or electrical motors Movements Oil Level/Temperature Load/Tension Historical Alarms and property changes Hydraulic pressure Wire Logger The Wire Logger will detect and record load conditions for a wire rope. The Wire Logger can be used as a part of a Conditioning Monitoring System/Condition Based Management System, as well as a stand-alone application. The logged data can be valuable input for inspection regimes and can give early warning of wire exhaustion. The information provided can help to optimize wire use and, hereby, maximize its service life. It can help, also, to avoid dangerous and costly wire failures. The Wire Logger will record bend cycles (over sheaves) with load, peak loads and overloads. The recorded information is stored in a database. The information can be viewed directly in summary graphs on the operator screen. For more thoroughly analysis and report generation, applications running on an ordinary office PC, can connect to the database over the network. Viewer The Viewer gives a graphical view of the database. Signal, overload, peakload, cycle counter are some of the items of data which can be viewed. 8 Simulation & Training R&D Simulation & training Using real time control systems and mathematic simulator we are able to provide custom build simulators. Including hardware from actual systems. This gives operators and clients a realistic feeling on operating a real system. The simulator can be used for training personnel, sales & marketing and testing new features and solutions. Simulators are being developed, including realistic 3D graphics. In addition to R&D activities related to CDP and the control system domain, we have R&D activities related to these industries: ROBOTICS INSTRUMENTATION & MONITORING HEAVE & MOTION COMPENSATION DECK MACHINERY & CRANES ICD cooperates closely with other companies in the maritime cluster on IFU projects and with Aalesund University College, Riga Technical University and Tallinn Technical University. SYSTEM COMPLEXITY ANALYSIS TOOL WITH RIGA TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY Software tool using artificial intelligence in modelling and analysing complex systems. EARLY WARNING SYSTEM FOR OILSPILL DETECTION IN ICED WATERS (see picture) HLIF (Hyper-spectral Laser Induced Fluorescence) LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) used to detect presence of oil molecules. Can detect very small amounts of hydrocarbons (ppm) and, also, classify/identify the oil. The picture shows our HLIF LIDAR (laser) based oilspill detector. The detector is developed together with our sister company Faster Imaging in Oslo and our partner in Estonia, LDI Innovation. The project is funded in part by grants from Enterprise Estonia (Innovation Norway) and Barents 2020 (Foreign Ministry of Norway).
