The recovery of this otherwise wasted energy can lead to meaningful gains. 10 The company name Ulmatec is an abbreviation of Ulstein Marine Technology AS, a company whose story can be traced back to 1917, with the creation of Ulstein Mek Verksted, which was later to became the Ulstein group. Following the acquisition of Ulstein by Vickers and Rolls-Royce, in 1999, a number of new marine businesses flourished in the area, one of these being Ulmatec.
