The project activity is located 294 km north from Santiago de Chile and 79 km north from Los Vilos, between the Pan-American Highway and the Pacific Ocean. 6 Figure 1: Map of Chile and Location of the Totoral Wind Farm Project 1.10 Conditions Prior to Project Initiation The project activity consists of the installation of a new wind power plant at a site which was not inhabited or developed in any way, and where no renewable power plant was operated prior to the implementation of the project activity. It does not result in the creation of any GHG emissions. The purpose of the project activity was to generate and supply clean energy to the electricity grid Compliance with Laws, Statutes and Other Regulatory Frameworks 1.12 Ownership and Other Programs Proof of Title The title of the project activity is Totoral Wind Farm Project. The CDM Host Country Letter of Approval from the Ministry of Environment of Chile, dated 2nd December 2011, endorses the project under this title and authorises the participation of the project proponents. This documentary evidence is furnished to the DOE. 6

7 Emissions Trading Programs and Other Binding Limits The Project has been registered as a CDM project on 07/12/2010, for which a renewable crediting period of 3 7 years will be used under the CDM GHG Program. Therefore, CO2 emission reductions generated by the Project during the CDM crediting period will be verified as unique CERs but not VCUs to avoid double counting. As to the project under VCS (Version 3), only emission reductions achieved before CDM registration - from 08/12/2009 to 06/12/ will be considered as VCUs, which will be sold only once. The net GHG emission reductions generated by the project will not be used for compliance of any emission trading program or to meet binding limits on GHG emissions. No program of this kind has been implemented in the country during the monitoring period Participation under Other GHG Programs The Project has been registered as a CDM project with registration number Other Forms of Environmental Credit The Project has not created, nor will it create any other form of GHG-related environmental credits based on the production during the VCS crediting period Projects Rejected by Other GHG Programs 1.13 Additional Information Relevant to the Project Eligibility Criteria The project is not a grouped project, so no eligibility criteria are specified.
