2 Schools are seeking ways to cut their costs, while at the same time improving their ability to educate our children. Schools generate a lot of print, but they may be doing it very inefficiently with a combination of desktop printers and local printers, while they may have lower cost production printers idling in a central print shop. And who knows how much they are actually spending on print? There may be multiple budget centers used for purchasing printers, toner, paper, and other supplies. To compound the problem, teachers spend up to 2 hours per week making copies. And the quality of the output may not be up to par based on the type of printer being used for the job, but when they attempt to use the process for using the print shop they would rather spend their own money at a big box retailer making copies. When the print shop does get teacher print jobs through interoffice mail, they re prone to have errors and additional delays due to attempting to interpret the wishes of the teacher. 8 Teachers will significantly reduce the amount of time waiting in line to use the copier, as well as waiting for copies to print. In fact, teachers consistently report saving up to two hours weekly. They will also be happy to receive higher quality prints in a timely manner without needing to use expensive outside copy centers like Staples. And, the automatic confirmation page, printed at the MFP, ensures peace of mind. The familiar graphical interface of the EIP-based MFPs make it easy to submit jobs, using a simple screen and menu choices that can be easily customized by the print center.
