5 Release Highlights Prerequisites Installing CCH Practice Management Release This release is installed using the Central Suite Installer. This ensures that all prerequisites are in place and that all the products for which you are licenced are installed in the correct sequence. You can find out more about the Central Suite Installer here: RELEASE NOTES MARCH 2017

6 1. Software Enhancements 1.1 Homepage Bills to approve updates Within this release, the following additional Team filtering have been added to the Bills to Approve homepage. Manager Assignment Partner Assignment Manager Bill Approver Note: To utilise the Bill Approver option within the homepage, add Bill Approver to the existing list of responsibility types in File > Maintenance > Internal > Responsibility Types. (Ensure Bill Approver is entered exactly as displayed) The following table sets out the Team validation rules applied: Team Client/Assignment Behaviour Manager Assignment Partner Assignment Manager Bill Approver Bill Approver The user is set as Manager at Client Level The user is set as an Assignment Partner for specific assignments The user is set as an Assignment Manager for specific assignments The user is set as Bill Approver at Client Level The user is set as a Bill Approver for specific assignments When filtered by Manager, the user will see all bills raised on their clients. When filtered by Assignment Partner, the user will see all bills raised on their assignments. When filtered by Assignment Manager, the user will see all bills raised on their assignments. When filtered by Bill Approver, the user will see all bills raised on their clients. When filtered by Bill Approver, the user will see all bills raised on their assignments. Where cross client/assignment billing has been used, the team members for the child clients/assignments will only see the bill if they are also members in the parent s team. Note: No changes have been made to any pre-existing homepage filters or rules RELEASE NOTES MARCH

7 Note: Currently repeat bills are not displayed when filtering by Manager, Assignment Manager or Bill Approver, due to repeat bills are associated with the bill creator and not bill approver Aged WIP updates Within this release, the following additional filtering have been added to the Aged WIP homepage. The value of Aged WIP displayed is selected Assignment Office. 1.2 Timesheets Display charge rate description within timesheets Users are now able to display the charge rate description within periodic/daily entry mode. A new option has been added to the Timesheet Settings option. By default the Show Charge Rate Desc is not checked for employees. This option is required to be set on an employee by employee basis and cannot be set in conjunction with the Allow Editing of Employee Charge Rates. Check the Charge Rate Desc option to activate (this automatically de-selects Allow Editing of Employee Charge Rates), to re-activate Allow Editing of Employee Charge Rates, first de-select the Show Charge Rate Desc. When the employee, who s settings have been changed, creates a new timesheet the C/R Desc column is present. 1.3 Disbursements/expenses ITS Import Disbursement to include Ref column The import facility for disbursements and expenses has been extended to allow for the inclusion of the Ref field. The two master templates Import Disbursements Template and Import Expenses Template have been updated to include this column RELEASE NOTES MARCH 2017

10 Enter the necessary information into the Ref column if required or alternatively leave blank. Validation is set to 15 characters, but users are not restricted to this within excel. Upon import the Ref column is returned as red if it exceeds 15 characters, requiring the user to edit the value to 15 characters or less. Note: As this is an additional column, the updated templates within Deploy > PM Templates are required to be used. 1.4 Reporting Charge rate and description The following two fields Charge Rate and Charge Rate Description have been added to Reporting under Practice Management > WIP. As the Charge Rate Description is a new field within timesheets, a value will only appear within Reporting once new timesheets have been created using this field. 1.5 Reporting smart reports ITS Ability to report on dimensions The three system dimension fields are now available within the following report layouts: Field Report Section Report Layout Department Dimension Cashbook Payments Receipts Suppliers Purchase Day Book (Detailed) Office Dimension Cashbook Payments Receipts Suppliers Purchase Day Book (Detailed) Partner Dimension Cashbook Payments Receipts Suppliers Purchase Day Book (Detailed) RELEASE NOTES MARCH

11 1.5.2 CCH Control by client WIP and Debtors with Provisions and Cash A new report layout has been created to include the following two fields: Provisions and Cash to the existing Control by Client WIP and Debtors report. Provisions: To return values within the Provisions column, ensure the ProvisionsOn configuration key is set to 1. Any provisions added within adjustment mode (which match the report date range) is then displayed. Cash: Any debtor receipts entered with the applicable reports date range is returned Expense Sheet additional field employee office The Emp Office field is now available within the Expense Sheet report layout. Found under Time > Expense Sheets 1.6 Workflow In this release we have introduced a Document Management workflow app that enables a user to automatically deliver a document as an attachment to an . This app can be employed to automate the delivery of bills by . Currently this facility is limited to Individuals only. Please see Central Workflow Release Notes for full details and an example of how this may be used. Note: Bills need to be filed into Document Management to utilise this feature RELEASE NOTES MARCH 2017

Quality Improvements 2.1 Timesheets ITS Office column missing from calendar mode timesheets It was reported that the Office column was missing for users in Calendar/Daily Mode even though the option was selected within the relevant employees Timesheets settings ITS incorrect task code restriction It was reported that if you had configured assignment templates to restrict the task codes available to be selected within timesheets, users were still able to post time to an unavailable task code by changing to a client/assignment who had the task code and back to the client/assignment who did not. 2.2 Homepages WIP approval The currency symbol has been removed from the charge column as this was being displayed as symbol regardless of the default currency set ITS Staff utilisation error An error was being returned when the existing view was being changed. This was due to a leap year and the 12 month period not being calculated correctly. 2.3 Multicurrency Assignment Billing Incorrect currency displayed on Stage 2 When performing assignment billing, the WIP currency message displayed on stage 2 of the wizard was incorrectly displaying the client company s currency and not the assignment company s currency ITS Bill amounts not being transferred to stage 3 if spacebar is used on stage 2 When using the spacebar to populate the Bill column when in stage 2 of the billing wizard, the bill amount was not being transferred to stage RELEASE NOTES MARCH

13 2.4 Disbursements/expenses Imported transactions not being included within the totals When importing either a disbursement or expense into an open sheet, the imported transactions were not being included within the totals ITS Opening of Incorrect expense sheet When using the Open Expense sheet option, an incorrect expense sheet was being opened where the Expenses Time Processing Category differed from the Timesheets Time Processing Category. 2.5 Standing Orders Cash Book Receipt/Payment standing orders not showing in view > transactions dialog Since , standing order repeat entries were not showing when running transactions from Bookkeeping > View > Transactions. 2.6 WIP Enquiry ITS Export to Excel not returning client code/name When using the export to excel function within WIP enquiry, the client code/name was not being returned. 2.7 Reporting ITS Smart Reports Aged Debtor Invoices not returning correct billing company Where practices have a different billing company to the client company, the Aged Debtor Invoices report was returning the client company instead of the billing company Smart Reports Missing Timesheet Report excluding posted wip lines Posted WIP entries were being excluded from Actual Hours when running the Missing Timesheet Report, where practices had Project Based Authorisation set RELEASE NOTES MARCH 2017
