6 Managing An Exadata Database Machine Trend and Direction: the Database Machine Administrator Traditional systems and Exadata both run the same Oracle Database software Everything you know and do today to run the Oracle Database is the same on Exadata It s Just Faster! The DBA team will naturally take on a larger role in managing a purpose built database system like the Exadata Database Machine Many of the administrative activities are database specific and best handled by the DBA team You need to decide who is going to take on the Administrative leadership of Exadata systems 6
