10 Global Xpress Applications Available to Customers The company that pays for the system (typically Ship Owners, Managers) Using the Portal, Customers view and select applications Those applications are then made available to their ships Application charges (subscriptions, usage fees) are billed through the VAR on the Customer s Monthly Invoice Available to Crew Crew has the ability to have personal accounts on the Portal Add cash into their Digital Wallet using Top Ups Top Ups are purchased from the Captain or online using a credit card Selects an Application from the Portal Charges are deducted from their Digital Wallet 10

11 The Application Catalogue Application catalog is presented to all users Catalog is tailored for Crew and Corporate Users Applications are listed in the catalogue, searchable by keyword Provider Name (content provider name, must be registered with Inmarsat) Category (Weather/Routing, Charts, News, Sports, Training material, etc) Region (All, Europe, Asia, N. America, C/S America, Commonwealth, etc) Country (All, UK, India, Philippines, etc) Keywords (up to 10 x 25 character keywords, free format to content provider) More Ship owner retains control Which applications are presented Who is authorized to purchase 11

15 Content Pre-Positioning Service Allows Data Files to be Pre-Positioned to the NSD Content is uploaded to the Inmarsat core network Peak and Off-Peak Delivery options CAP is charged for successful deliveries only Time to deliver files is dependent on file size Downloaded files are not browseable to the shipboard users Application is responsible to access files from the NSD APIs to access Pre-Positioned files provided as part of the Inmarsat SDK DRM (Data Rights Management) / encryption is the responsibility of the Application provider 15
