In recent years the complexity of E/E/PE systems increased, putting a greater emphasis on the testing requirements, such as ISO or LV124. RTStand was developed in order to cope with this complexity and to provide a flexible and innovative platform for testing. Conventional test methods can lead to difficult to reproduce failures. Such testing systems achieve only an inadequate accuracy. Sporadic errors between the individual test steps are no longer detected, with the high risk of these errors to remain undetected. 3 HIL Test Platforms Due to its modularity and scalability, RTStand proved to be a solution for various industries and testing systems, including embedded software validation using HIL simulation along with a platform for life-time and end-of-line tests. The following 4 test platforms describe the diversity of areas of application that RTStand covers: RTStand - specific and scalable test platforms

4 1. RTStand Automotive Test Platform Overall, ECUs are critical to the functionality of a vehicle and all of the bus traffic. It is important to test them in a variety of ways, according to industry requirements, so that all sporadic and short errors can be detected in a reliable way. Using the RTStand Automotive Test Platform, the overall process of testing and error reporting is being significantly simplified and accelerated. Features: Support of CAN, LIN, FlexRay and their configuration files (*.dbc, *.ncl, *.ldf, FIBEX). Support of DMM, AIO, DIO etc. Support of onboard supply system simulation. 5 3. RTStand LV 124 Test Platform In recent years, the automotive industry has been faced with technical challenges that had to comply with various industrial norms. One of the most important of these norms is the LV 124, which was drawn up by the representatives of automobile manufacturers like Audi AG, BMW AG, Volkswagen AG, Porsche AG and others. LV 124 describes various electrical tests and their requirements. An innovative modular hardware setup and two ready-to-use WKS Informatik GmbH products the TubeAnalyzer ( and RTStand are integrated in this test setup. Features: Support of LV 124 test automation (EA01-EA22) Support of onboard supply system simulation. Support of sporadic error detection within 10us. RTStand Production Test Platform Production test systems are based on critical criteria such as product measurement traceability and reliability, product variant handling, fast and stable testing process in order to reduce test times and lower costs. RTStand Production integrates all these criteria in just one test platform and add its own top features for an innovative testing approach. Features: Support of user management. Support of database management, including scalable design and automated measurement logging. Support of reporting in various formats (*txt, *.csv, *.html, *.xml, *.atml). Support of production key figures such as work shift management. All platforms support native RTStand features. Software Components The diversity of the platforms is also based on the modular software components, which through their scalability and flexible use are able to comply with the most difficult requirements. 7 User Interface The user interface comes with a set of standard functionality, such as test overview, online reporting and report visualization, customizable panels - for individual customer needs -, user management (administrator, operator), database connectivity and editor option for test sequences. Database Parameter & Results The Database module provides a reliable solution for measurement data logging, limits loading, variant handling and also integrates a measurement data visualization and analysis tool. Test Automation The Test Automation core supports sequential and parallel testing of several DUTs in parallel, includes a custom step type library for over 50 devices, climate chamber control and reporting in various formats (*.txt, *.csv, *.html, *.xml, *.atml and other on request). Actuator Sensor Simulation The Simulation module can be used to interact with models from a variety of modeling environments and programming languages and it can run compiled models created in any supported modeling environment as well as uncompiled models (.mdl files) created using MathWorks Simulink software. Error Analysis Reporting The Error Analysis reporting module is based on an innovative 3 Click measurement data mining method, for a quick and easy error analysis. It provides logging in the industry standard format TDMS and integrates a fieldbus measurement data analyzer, a TDMS measurement data analyzer. The report visualization is integrated in the user interface. The 3 Click data mining method is a fast and comfortable way to find the desired measurement failures. From the displayed data in the user interface, until the actual logged error, you can precisely find the error cause with only 3 mouse clicks, as pictured below:

8 The NCL and TDMS Viewer and Converter provides a very efficient and quick look at the measurement data, including visual synchronization of fieldbus and TDMS data. Workflow The diversity of the platforms is also based on the modular software components, which through their scalability and flexible use are able to comply with the most difficult requirements. 9 Client integration RTStand has been integrated already in several complex testing systems worldwide. The product s important features and their modularity made the integration an easy process. The simple and standard interfaces, as well as its size speak for the product s integration capabilities into various systems. Current developments RTStand user interface Following the client-oriented approach, WKS Informatik is constantly trying to meet your needs and develops constantly, trying to improve its quality and satisfy the customer s needs. A faster and more intuitive user interface has been recently launched, in order to allow customers to create their own interface modules. Furthermore, we are constantly expanding our custom step type library for supporting more devices and functionality.
