5 Connected, from the sensor to the ERP Our division is dedicated to the vision of providing the global production industry with high-performance process monitoring systems that bring quality and efficiency on the production floor to a new level. This calls for a two-pronged approach: industryand application-specific systems must be developed on the one hand, and data must be measured, processed and communicated in a way that generates maximum added value for the customer on the other. But it all boils down to two key concepts: data consistency and connectivity. With the acquisition of IOS GmbH, a specialist in MES systems, Kistler s skill set has gained a vital link in this value chain from the sensor to the ERP. At the application level, IPC already offers a broad spectrum of application-specific control and monitoring systems, for joining processes, bonding and welding, injection molding and fastening technology, to name a few. With the acquisition of Vester Elektronik GmbH, another area has been added: Vester automatic test units ensure 100% testing of metal and hybrid parts by means of highly developed optoelectronic sensors and software, giving Kistler access to the growth market of machine vision. To this end, a Competence Center for image processing software will soon be established in Germany. /ipc With the acquisition of Vester, not only are we gaining industry know-how in stamping and metal forming, we are also significantly expanding our range of products. Thanks to optical sensors and image processing, we now have additional technologies we can use to systematically advance our process monitoring systems.
