3 BIRT Application Security Reports Application Security is set up in IBM TRIRIGA to restrict users access to functionality depending on their role and responsibility. The IBM TRIRIGA application ships with five reports, which an administrator can use to review or print the Application Security settings. IBM TRIRIGA shipping applications from version 10.2 and higher include the following security BIRT reports: trisystem - BIRT - Group Security Permissions Report Data Utilities - BIRT - Group Security Permissions Report Filter by Module, Business Object, GUI, Tab, and Section IBM TRIRIGA shipping applications from version 10.3 and higher include the following security BIRT reports: Data Utilities - BIRT - Group Security Permissions Report Filter By Group Data Utilities - BIRT - Group Security Permissions Report Filter By Groups (Has Access) Data Utilities - BIRT - Group Security Permissions Report Filter by Groups, Module, and BOs The shipping security reports are in the Report Manager. You can quickly find them by filtering on security permission : 3

4 Security Reports Group Security Permissions Report Report Name: trisystem - BIRT - Group Security Permissions Report The report shows all security access to all modules, business objects, forms, tabs, and sections for all the security groups that are in IBM TRIRIGA. Tip Since this report retrieves all security access, the report can take a long time to finish. Therefore, the report can be run as a queue report so the user does not have to wait until the execution is complete. However, it is recommended that you execute other security reports listed in this document which have parameters to filter the results and give better performance. 4

5 Group Security Permissions Report Filter by Module, Business Object, GUI, Tab and Section Report Name: Data Utilities - BIRT - Group Security Permissions Report Filter by Module, Business Object, GUI, Tab and Section You must select a security group, a module, and a business object. The result lists the security access of selected modules, business objects, and forms of the selected security groups. Limitation All business objects are shown even though a module is selected. You need to know which business object(s) to select for the module selected if you want to narrow the results further. Tip You can select multiple security groups, modules, and business objects by using Shift key on a keyboard. 5

6 Group Security Permissions Report Filter by Group Report Name: Data Utilities - BIRT - Group Security Permissions Report Filter By Group You must select a security group. The result shows the security access of all modules, business objects, and forms of the selected security group. 6

7 Group Security Permissions Report Filter by Groups (Has Access) Report Name: Data Utilities - BIRT - Group Security Permissions Report Filter By Groups (Has Access) You must select security group(s), a module, and a business object. The result shows the security access (exclude No Access ) of all modules, business objects, and forms of the selected security groups. Tip You can select multiple security groups by using Shift key on a keyboard. 7

8 Group Security Permissions Report Filter by Groups, Module and BOs Report Name: Data Utilities - BIRT - Group Security Permissions Report Filter by Groups, Module and BOs You must select a module and a business object. The security group parameter is not required, but you can select it to narrow down the result returned. The result shows the security access of selected modules, business objects, and forms of security groups if any selected. Tip You can select multiple parameters of this report by using Shift key on a keyboard. The business object parameter is filtered according to the selected module parameter. Executing BIRT Reports in IBM TRIRIGA After you have configured IBM TRIRIGA for viewing BIRT reports, configure the FRONT_END_SERVER property as described in the IBM TRIRIGA Application Platform 3 Installation and Implementation Guide: Fcommon%2Fpdf_documentation.html Run reports as follows: 1. Log in to IBM TRIRIGA as an administrator. 2. Go to My Reports > System Reports tab and find one of the security BIRT reports. 3. Open the query and click Run Report. The BIRT viewer is opened in a different window. 4. Wait for the report result. 8
