1 Information Technology Major Accomplishments FY ENTERPRISE SYSTEMS GROUP Enterprise Systems Completed 3234 Work Orders this year. (Note: We processed 2.4% (75) more work orders despite losing two employees during the year) Team Specific Accomplishments: o Hired, and began training 2 new Programmer/Analysts o Helped Researched and Recommended Continuing Ed Solutions to improve Non-Credit Processes o Helped Researched Replacement Solutions for MRM Room Scheduling System. Banner Patches & Upgrades: o Installed 42 module upgrades and 93 critical patches into Production system o Created new instance for pre-banner 9 Test instance from Production. o Led department testing of pre-banner 9 System--tested all 2285 forms. o Planned and implemented 24 VMs for Banner 9. o Installed new versions of Intellecheck and FormFusion. Processed and merged 276 duplicated student accounts. Collaborating with FLVC in a pilot of their new Audit system. Goal of the new system is to improve student requests for shopping their coursework throughout the state. Technical Lead for Rave (SafeLSSC) system: o Created pilot system for testing. o Created automated load files for Students and Staff. o Brought new Production system on-line. o Led 4 trainings on Leesburg and Clermont campuses detailing Rave and SafeLSSC system. Collaborated on Smart Catalog project: o Setup imputable data fields to allow for longer course title and pre-req narratives. o Programmed complex functions to parse customized data fields. o Programmed Data Pull and export load files to SmartIq. Developed solutions for 254 Ad-hoc requests. Banner/Ellucian Lead for Canvas to Blackboard Conversion: o Created four new load files for student, instructor, course and term processing. o Created automated process to load files to Canvas. Technical Lead for new ILS Patron System for Library Files: o Created pilot system and test files. o Successfully Submitted test files and new Production files. Assisted with creation of Windows 10 image to correct ODBC, IE and Java issues as well as include the program AppXtender. Potentially saving hundreds of hours worked throughout the year. Implemented Follett Discover to aid verification of course materials. Programming Planning & Effectiveness: o Performed In depth, forensic checking of data in Banner ERP system to ensure data accuracy. o Coded Extensive Programming changes for Student, Personnel and Facilities Submissions. o Incorporated New Data Elements for Student System o Changes in Personnel data submission necessitated by changes in Business Operations (FLAC). o Included New Building and Rooms for HSCA in Facilities submission. 2 o Successfully researched and submitted Industry Certifications leading to $65K in funds. o Established connection to Tibco system most of data submissions cleared on the first submission day. Partnered with P&E to develop BI system: o Collaborated with Admissions to verify and update data. o Developed and led training for BI system among selected staff members. o Provided technical expertise to Consortium Members Provided maintenance and support for elumen data loads. Completed all data requests for Academic Program Review. Fully implement Scheduler Planner over 4400 distinct users have used it: o Established Interface with Ellucian Banner ERP system. o Customized Scheduler Planner for Student ease of use. o Linked Schedule Planner to Degreeworks Student s Plans. Provided rapid response to Student Advisor requests to remove orientation holds from students, allowing them to register immediately following SOAR. Degreeworks: o Linked Plans to Students. o Updated Banner Extract to include students who have applied in the past 180 days, ensuring students attending SOAR are able to utilize the program, potentially leading to increase in student registration. o Created scripts for use in State Reporting. o Created scripts identifying Financial Aid students taking courses outside of their program. o Worked with other institutions helping with upgrades and scribe issues. Created customized Graduation Application for Students. Assisted in the setup of the HSCA students. Programming Financial Aid: o Dynamic Forms: Processed New Year Dynamic Forms o Researched data and provided reports for Students in Courses outside of their program. o Researched and provided additional support to newly assigned Director helping to bridge gaps and connect department with external resources. o Created new general Banner user account for the sole use of POPSEL maintenance helping to alleviate added work on department. Programming Human Resources: o Verified ACA file layout and submission were processed correctly and on time. o Modified FMBC for file layout changes. o Tested Payroll run on remote Disaster Recovery site. Programming Business Services: o Implemented FLAC in Production environment. o Created Test system for FAST reporting system to provide custom report creation. o Tweaked the Drop for non-payment process to help speed up the process. 3 PC/NETWORK SUPPORT GROUP PC Support and Network support areas closed 6,179 work orders this year. Refreshed 202 Desktops and 35 Laptops. The highlights are: o 65 Desktops replaced machines in CML232, 37 in CML 202, 25 in LB Library Lab, and other various desktops. o All but three laptop setups were for Faculty/Staff. The three are for student use. Demoed all gear from the WJ Phone Room. Took over Sonitrol Door quotes and maintenance. Replaced all voice routers on all three campuses Replaced Cisco Firewall and Router to improve internet performance. Wireless: o Replaced 78 Access Points for Wave 2 access Points. o Expanded Wireless coverage in CTL and M buildings. o Merged UCF wireless onto LSSC wireless Added Starfish and Academic Catalog cloud services to our Single Sign-on. Planned and purchased all voice, data and networking equipment for the new Science-Health building in Clermont Training: o Sean and Chris on how to program phones, voic and switches o Sean trained to take over our inventory o Chris trained on how to manage Wireless gear o Chris trained to manage WSFTP server o Chris trained on Domain Administrative rights expectations o Chris trained on Office 365 management Retooled Computer Technician position for Server/Computer Technician. Retooled Network Technician for Network Administrator with Direct Reports. Re-cabled Williams Johnson building to accommodate new Telecom Closet. Trained Faculty Staff on Rave and InformaCast systems Installed and reimaged 383 SSD Drives for slow computers in classrooms Created new computer labs in CTL 116, SL2 243, SL Installed 13 new servers. Installed computers for Lake Tech in Sumter and South Lake. Upgraded Call Manager to support newer model phones Completed College IT Inventory without any issues. Processed User transactions: o New Hire forms: 162 o Reactivations for 1 year: 212 o Account Termination forms: 156 o Transfers within the college forms processed: 15 Migrated CLEP to UNITY Retired ParSystem and helped migrate tests for use in BlackBoard Training Vance on Software most notably Blumen, Accutrack, Raisers Edge Unlinked Financial Edge from Raisers Edge SANS Security Training and reports Page 3 of 5
4 WEB SUPPORT GROUP Web Support closed 950 Work Orders this year, which included the following highlighted projects. TEDxLSSC Website o Develop WordPress featuring Parallax scrolling o Developed 3 Wufoo forms to support a unique two phase application process o Partnered with the TEDx team and Business Office to develop a unique system to execute the two phase applications of speakers and participates o Maintain and updated all plugins LSSC Robotics Website and Wufoo Forms o Develop WordPress featuring Parallax scrolling o Design all custom visual elements also used in digital and printed marketing materials o Due to website and forms develop that camp reached capacity for the first time in its history o A waiting list was created 3 weeks before registration closed o Maintain and updated all plugins Kid's College Wufoo Forms o Develop 3 intricate forms for the Kid's College 2017 season o Collectively the fields contain 130+ logical fields o Pioneered the implantation of PayPal PayFlow Pro o Approximately 1,500 participant forms submitted o Over $250,000 in payments processed Website Redo Project o Research, analyze and identify content management system (CMS) trends in Florida's state and community college system over a 6 month period o Research, analyze and identify server-side scripting language trends in Florida's state and community college system over a 6 month period o Research, analyze and identify web platform trends in Florida's state and community college system over a 6 month period o Contact and schedule in person presentations at Lake-Sumter State College with 10 agencies. o Develop and distribute a rubric to collect quantitative feedback from web committee on interviewed agencies and suggested content management system (CMS) o Research and identify the optimal content management system (CMS) for Lake-Sumter State College o Research and identify the optimal server-side scripting language for Lake-Sumter State College o Identity and create mockups for the minimal quantity and layout arrangements necessary for the new website design o Identify and research the best strategy to implement WordPress for Lake-Sumter State College's front facing content management system (CMS) o Research, evaluate and develop strategy to minimize security issues associated with WordPress. o Research the most effective way to structure user permission for a distributive model o Research and identify WordPress theme options for websites look at feel. Designing and creating specifications for AV system for the Magnolia Room Set up of lighting, speakers and projectors for the LSSC Gala Event at Savannah Center.
