6 EDI Setup Simple definition of data transformation realized in Anveo EDI Connect Anveo EDI Connect is an add-on for Microsoft Dynamics NAV and is fully set up and operated from there. Simply define your data transformations by mouse-click. No external converter or additional service provider required to transform XML, EDIFACT, X12 or other formats. All data transformations are executed on Microsoft s Dynamics NAV service tier (or the Classic Client). System requirement is Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 or newer (application). Anveo EDI Connect also runs with previous database versions. 5

8 Formats There are numerous formats for the exchange of data between business partners. Anveo EDI Connect supports almost all data formats making Anveo an universal tool for any EDI requirements. On the following pages, we will present the most common EDI formats.

X12 is still growing and used in different sectors like health care, insurance, transportation and many more. Anveo EDI Connect supports X12. We can configure any message types and exchange data from and to any Dynamics NAV table. Anveo EDI Connect offers a very wide-ranging support for EDIFACT and handles all message types and dialects. The standard is constantly evolving. Each version gets a version number, such as D96A, D01B, D10A. Commonly used data formats: Orders (ORDERS) Order Confirmation (ORDRSP) Shipment (DESADV) Invoice (INVOIC) Advice Of Settlement (REMADV) Load Data(IFTMIN) Sales Data (SLSRPT) Inventory (INVRPT) and a lot more 9

The format is easily readable for both the computer and with a little practice for humans. The data is structured by elements. Anveo EDI Connect supports XML files with many features, such as namespaces, prefixes, and other features that are not available by XMLPorts of Microsoft Dynamics NAV. 10

12 Plain-Text / CSV Simple text formats Quite often text separated formats are used to organize simple data structures such as item master data. Although its format is quite simple to read and understand, it may be difficult to represent complex data structures. Anveo EDI Connect supports formats with fixed field lengths, as with dynamic, and mixed forms. It is possible to define optional elements and record-based text formats such as VDA. AnveoNAV.com There are many ways to send and receive EDI messages. Some are directly supported by Anveo EDI Connect. However, some may require a provider or external software to increase the control of data flow. 14 1. The Basic Package provides all the core features and is required once for each installation. 2. Simply license each required EDI mapping by a package price, or choose the Unlimited Mapping Package. License A mapping is the definition of an EDI message type for one communication partner. The Anveo License is bound to your Microsoft Dynamics NAV license and to an NAV company name. Additional companies must be licensed separately. Licenses for test and development systems are available on request and free of charge.
