McElligott Secondary School Mattawa, Ontario The following Addendum shall be part of the Tendering Documents and shall supersede the drawings and/or Specifications and previously issued Addenda where applicable. This Addendum consists of 1 page plus the listed attachments. Attachments: (3 pages) Electrical Drawing E Table of Contents.1 Division 15 Mechanical: delete all specification Sections listed..2 Division 16 Electrical: add Division Electrical (3 pages). Delete all previously referenced specification Sections. 2. Section List of Drawings.1 Replace drawing listed under Mechanical / Electrical with the following: E101 Electrical Power Floor Plan, Notes and Details End of Addendum #1. Project No F.J. 2 Page 1 ELECTRICAL: 1.1. General 1. The General Conditions of the stipulated price contract shall be considered as an integral part of this contract. 2. Should this work be done during normal hours, the Contractor shall advise and coordinate any systems shutdown with the Owner's representative. 3. Only commercial grade equipment and materials shall be installed. 4. Before tendering, examine the conditions at the site, the drawings, and become familiar with the mechanics, architectural finishes, etc., in order that the price shall include everything necessary for a complete installation. 5. All equipment shall be installed in accordance with the Ontario Building Code 2012 and all applicable local Codes Workmanship and Materials 1. All equipment shall bear CSA and ULC approved labels. 2. Use only specified materials and equipment except where designated "or approved equivalent". 3. All alternates to specified materials must be approved prior to award of contract Drawings 1. Consult all construction drawings and become familiar with all conditions affecting the work. 2. Where job conditions require minor changes to indicated locations there shall be no extra charge to the Owner. 3. All dimensions must be checked and verified on the job site. 4. Submit shop drawings for approval before ordering materials. 5. Submit as-built drawings upon completion Codes and Regulations 1. Execute the work in strict accordance with the requirements of the Ontario Building Code, Ontario Electrical Safety Code, Local Municipality Hydro Utility requirements and all other applicable local codes.
3 Page 2 2. In the event that any deviations from the Electrical Drawings are necessary, consult with the Consultant and obtain written approval before proceeding Certificates and Fees 1. Provide all necessary notices and obtain all necessary permits and pay all fees. Furnish all usual certificates needed as evidence that the work installed conforms with the laws and regulations of the authorities having jurisdiction, before final payment of Contract is made. 2. Make application to Electrical Safety Authority, Local Inspection Branch, with three sets of drawings for approval and return one set signed to the Consultant and pay all costs. The Contractor shall arrange for inspections at critical periods and furnish an inspection. Copy of Certificate of final inspection to be provided to the Owner upon completion of work Guarantee 1. All equipment, material and workmanship shall be unconditionally guaranteed for a minimum period of one year from the date of acceptance. Where longer guarantee periods are applicable by manufacturers, these shall be borne by this Division Identification 1. Clearly indicate all electrical equipment. All panel directories shall be typewritten and all other equipment shall be permanently identified with etched lamacoid plates secured to clean surfaces Wiring Devices 1. Single pole light switches shall be Pass & Seymour 20AC-1WH White complete with stainless steel cover plate (or approved equivalent). 2. Duplex receptacles shall be Pass & Seymour 5260 Series WH White complete with stainless steel cover plate (or approved equivalent). 3. All cover plates shall be stainless steel, unless otherwise noted Method of Wiring 1. All wiring shall be concealed in walls, ceiling and furred spaces. In dropped ceilings and when concealed in furred walls, etc., AC90 armoured cable may be used maximum length 3 m in concealed ceiling spaces, or drops to receptacles in GWB partitions, maximum length 4.5 m. Otherwise cables shall be in EMT conduit. All conductors for wire and cable shall be copper min. #12 gauge. 2. Where concealment is not possible, surface raceway to be used, upon approval of Engineer Conduit and Cable Installation
4 Page 3 1. Install cables, conduits and fittings to be embedded or plasters over, neatly and close to building structure so furring can be kept to minimum. 2. Protect alarm and emergency system wiring from fire for the required length of time Cutting, Patching and Finishing 1. All cutting, patching and finishing for electrical work shall be by this Section. Obtain approval before cutting any structural members. Upon removal of all conduit, wiring, light fixtures, equipment, etc., patch all holes and match existing finishes. 2. Floor tiles damaged during the construction or conduit openings, where conduit was removed shall be replaced with matching size and pattern currently available Fireproofing 1. Where cables or conduits pass through floors and fire rated walls, pack space between wiring and sleeve full with firestopping system to CAN 4-S Existing Systems 1. Before submitting tender price verify on job site location of all accessible existing electrical systems affecting execution of this contract. Difficulties arising during construction will not be considered as grounds for additional payment. 2. Where unknown services are encountered, immediately advise Consultant and confirm findings in writing Owner Occupancy Schedule 1. The existing building will remain occupied during normal occupancy hours. 2. Provide temporary protection for all finishes, appliances or equipment in the existing building. 3. Protect and maintain existing boiler room and electrical room operations during the work.
