3 Driveway Access The short drop curbs and center curb with inlets provide an easy solution for driveways. This solution allows for drainage at the low point but is not ADA compliant. 4 ADA Walkway Access 2part drop curbs with inlets and center curb without inlets provide an ideal solution for ADA compliant pedestrian right of ways, sidewalks. The inlets in the 2part drop curb ensure drainage around the low point. Tactile pavers complete the ADA compliant solution. Materials The curb drainage system bodies shall be manufactured from polyester polymer concrete with minimum properties as follows: Compressive strength: 14,000 psi Flexural strength: 4,000 psi Water absorption 0.07% Frost proof Salt proof B117 Salt Spray Test compliant Dilute acid and alkali resistant The nominal clear opening shall be with overall width of. Modular units shall be manufactured with neutral invert and have a minimum wall thickness of at least 0.67 (16mm). Each unit will feature a full radius in the bottom and a male to female interconnecting end profile. A sealant groove provides a 0.25 recess to allow a bead of sealant to be inserted at joints if required. Units shall have cast in anchoring features on the outside wall to ensure maximum mechanical bond to the surrounding bedding material and pavement surface. Each standard unit shall provide 2 front inlets, each providing 8.71 sq. ins. open area. Combined curb & drainage system shall be certified to load class D400 as defined by EN 1433 or able to withstand loadings up to 1,859 psi. Curb shall offer impact resistance as defined by AASHTO Standard Specification for Highway Bridges section and/or certified to resist loads up to 114lbs dropped vertically from 6 4.
