2 The Basics As of January 1, 2009, the City of San Leandro requires the submittal of the Build It Green GreenPoint Rated or US Green Building Council LEED checklist with all Building Permit applications for: any new residential structures residential additions > 500sf Commercial/industrial projects > $100,000 The correct checklist must be submitted There is no specific point minimum The checklist must be on the plans The plans must reflect what is on the checklist
3 About GreenPoint Rated Consists of respected best green practices Based on a point evaluation for measures Third party inspection and verification For all residential project types: GreenPoint Rated New Home Single family Multi-family GreenPoint Rated Existing Home (launched in July, 2008 for Single family)
4 GreenPoint Rated Overview Ratings reflect practices ABOVE code in CA Rated on five environmental categories; with specified minimums (including 15% better than Title-24 Energy Code) At least 50 pts overall (25 for Existing Homes) Open ended to accommodate the beginners and the greenest of builders 4
