1 Report on training for the Engineers & Architects in Structural and Non-Structural Risk Mitigation from Earthquake Hazard in Himachal Pradesh July, 2012, Fairlawn, Shimla, HP. Under GOI-UNDP DRR Programme ( ) Under the Government of India-UNDP Disaster Risk Reduction Programme ( ) two days training was organised for Engineer, Architects and Town s at HIPA, Shimla from July, participants mainly consisting of Engineers, Architects, and Town s from PWD, Electricity, I & PH, HIMUDA, TCP, HPTDC, MC Shimla, Urban Development participated in the training. 10 Engineers, 8 Architects, 9 Town s and 5 others professionals were trained. Training was on structural and non-structural earthquake risk mitigation in Himachal Pradesh. The training/orientation stressed on the following issues:- Earthquake hazard and earthquake risk mitigation Behaviour of buildings in earthquake Earthquake Resistant Construction of Masonry buildings
