2 W E L C O M E introduces a new descriptive order process for architectural ceiling and wall panels which will have three advantages to stakeholders. 1. It aids the architect in customizing parameters of some flat panels used in their projects. 2. It provides the contractor a quick reliable way to translate the project requirements into a concise order format to be communicated to ACGI. This also eliminates some of the approval process required for custom shop drawings and samples. 3. Combining the first two benefits with the commitment by ACGI for inventory and dedicated manufacturing time, it provides for a much quicker delivery time frame. We have labeled this new Process Custom-Time Critical, or C-TC. The process is illustrated in the following brochure pages. By following the progressive steps, and writing down the choices made on the summary page, all the requirements of the panels can be customized to the project and properly defined. This information, when given to ACGI via fax or , transmits all the requirements for manufacturing and will serve as the order form. 1 CHOOSE A PANEL SIZE: Panels manufactured for the C-TC Process are constructed using a nominal 3/4" thick Class A Fire Rated particleboard substrate (Duraflake) which is a 100% Recycled Content product. 2 x2 2 x4 2 x8 Pg 1

All perforated panels have black non-woven acoustical fabric factory applied to the back of each panel to black out the penetration holes and prevent loose fibers generated by contractor supplied acoustical mats from either showing or falling through the panels. Standard 32 mm spacing perforations, with the addition of 1 acoustical mats, will achieve a NRC of 0.40; 16 mm spacing, with 1 acoustical material will achieve a NRC of 0.65 or greater.v Pg 4

7 SPECIFICATIONS FOR FLAT PANEL WOOD CEILING SYSTEM [Project Name] [Project Location] PART 1 GENERAL 1.1 Description of Work: Work Included: Provide Flat Panel Ceiling system where shown on Architectural Drawings, and as specified in this Specification. 1.2 Quality Assurance: A. Architectural Components FPX-xxxx-X [indicate design style (FP1, FP2, etc; size-l/w; and thickness) Flat Panel Ceiling Products for this project shall maintain the quality as instituted by the architect or A.W.I. B. Design Criteria: Manufacture of FPX-xxxx-X Flat Panel shall be installed true and plumb to within manufacturing tolerance of 1/8 over 8 long. C. Product Construction: Wood shall be kiln dried to 10%. Cracking, checking and warpage of members will not be acceptable. 1.3 Submittals: A. Technical Data: Submit manufacturer s data and installation instructions. B. Shop Drawings: Submit 4 copies of shop drawings showing all areas involved, attachment conditions and perimeter circumstances. C. Submittal Samples: Submit 1 product sample for approval by architect. 1.4 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING A. Material must be stored and installed only in secured ambient environment (humidity min. 35% -max. 55%, temperature not to exceed 80 deg.) B. Windows, Doors and all wet-work must be completed before un-packaging and installation. Handle carefully to avoid damaging. PART 2 PRODUCTS 2.1 Acceptable Manufacturer:, 521 George Street, Marshfield, MO Telephone (417) Product Type A. Product Configuration: Flat Panel Wood Ceiling System, 1. Product FPX-xxxx-X. 2. Size: Flat Panels shall be provided in a panel size of: XX x XX (eg. 24 x 24 ). 3. Suspension: Panels shall be suspended using the FPX type suspension system as provided by ACGI. Unless otherwise stated, all acoustical grid will be 15/16 heavy duty grid with main runners on 2 centers. 4. Veneer Species: Panels are to be manufactured with architectural grade XXXX veneer, with (a) Plain Sliced, book matched, or (b) Quartered Look, slip match 5. Perforations: Panels are to have (a) No perforations or (b) X mm holes with perforation pattern XX/XX, parallel or offset pattern. 6. areas: Panels are to have factory provided non perforated areas to allow for (a) 3, (b) 6, or (c) 9 field cut penetrations. Areas are to be (a) Round or (b) Square. Penetration areas are to centered within the panel. All penetrations are to be field cut. 7. Fire Rating: Wood Panels shall have a Class A Fire Rated substrate, Flame Spread < Finish: Panels are to be factory finished with clear sealers and finishes, satin sheen. B. Attachment System: Flat Panel Wood Ceiling shall be suspended according to manufacturers suggested method of suspension as per the design details provided in the plans. PART 3 EXECUTION 3.1 Installation A. Flat Panel Wood Ceiling System shall be handled and installed with care in order to prevent surface and structure damage. Field cutting shall be kept to a minimum and performed as recommended by manufacturer. B. The ceiling system shall be suspended by 15/16 black Heavy Duty T-Rail with main runners on 2 centers and cross T s every 2. C. Panels shall be installed by screwing each panel into the T-Grid. D. Two safety clips [supplied by ACGI] shall be field installed on the backside of each panel. Hold-down clips [contractor supplied] shall be attached to the grid to secure panel on all four sides. PART 4 WARRANTY 4.1 Product Warranty A. shall warranty the Flat Panel Wood Ceiling System against manufacturer s defects up to one year. Changes in finish or dimensions due to Ultra Violet light, excessive temperature or humidity conditions [see 1.4.A above] and/or abuse of any kind shall void any warranties from ACGI. Pg 7

8 S U M M A R Y ACGI is making the commitment to be able to ship product placed under the C-TC format within the following guidelines: Orders between 100 1,200 square feet are targeted to ship within 14 days. Orders between 1,200 2,500 square feet are targeted to ship within 21 days. ACGI is also altering payment terms for this process as follows: At the time of order, a manufacturing commitment invoice reflecting 40% of the order total will be issued electronically with N-10 day terms. Payment for this invoice must be received by ACGI prior to shipment. With an approved credit review, at the time of shipment the remaining balance of the order will be invoiced electronically, again with N-10 day terms.
