3 WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE DO Varitrend Industrial Rubber and Manufacturing is a fully black empowered company and is co-owned by Bhekinkosi Ncube and Gavin Geyser. The members and staff have approximately 30 years experience in all fields of rubber manufactured goods. These fields include the Mining industry (Chute liners, Impact rubbers,suspension rubbers ), Automotive Industry (mountings,boot covers,fitment machine pads and Blocks),Trolley Wheels,Jockey Wheels and other numerous fields. We manufacture components in all forms of available rubber compounds, i.e.,nitrile,neoprene, EPDM, Natural and SBR,to name a few. Specialist compounds are bought out from reliable mixing concerns that maintain a high level of consistency. Moulds are manufactured offsite by a company that has extensive experience in this field. Moulding capacity ranges from a 1,2 m x 1,2m plattern size press,600mm x 600mm press, and 8 smaller presses with an average plattern size of 400mm x 400mm.All the presses are electrically heated. The company offers an extensive service to customers for development of new products to their specification. This service includes compound advices and design assistance. Recently the company has branched out into the manufacture and supply of Idler Rolls for the conveyor industry. The main focus here is the manufacture of composite rolls.the composite rolls are manufactured from two main compounds, namely "T" PVC and M PVC. These rolls have a distinct advantage over most other forms of materials used. They have a distinctly lower db level, are Flame retardant and are distinctly lighter ensuring much lighter assembly weights.another advantage is that in the case of a bearing failure there is no chance of the composite aiding a fire,or causing material failure which can damage the belt. We also offer the manufacture of the standard steel and impact rolls as required by customers. It is our mission to supply products which meet the highest requirements for all the specific industries.our goal is to develop longstanding relationships with all our customers.

6 OUR PRODUCTS cont... Conveyor Belts Composite and Idler Rolls The manufacture of these rolls is done in house. The materials used carries the SABS mark of approval from the manufacturer. The composite has an extremely good wear resistance in most applications. It is non corrosive and non Static. With the material design being so special, it has a tendency to be very belt friendly. Due to the tight tolerances employed in the manufacturing process of the initial pipe extrusion, run out of the rolls is kept to a minimum. This in turn creates a longer working life for both the bearings as well as the roll surface. The material is very rigid, which eliminates any sagging of the roll when exposed to higher temperatures, as is the case with some of the other composites being used at present. This also eliminates uneven contact with the belt, and has relatively little effect on the tracking of the belt. The lower db emissions enable these rolls to be used in internal applications without excessive noise being an issue. A patented end cap and flinger assembly, manufactured from high grade Nylon, enables these rolls to function with little,if any, dirt intrusion into the bearings. There is also a Nylon Stub available,which when fitted over a 16mm shaft,makes the roll totally "Rust Proof"

7 OUR PRODUCTS cont... Conveyor Belts Impact Idler Rolls and Standard Steel Rolls These rolls are also manufactured in house. The standard industry related practices are applied in this process. Virtually all diameters of piping are used,as required by the customer,i.e., 57,1 mm, 60,3mm,76mm,101,3mm,127mm and 152mm. The impact rubbers for the Impact rolls are manufactured in house,and there are various designs to meet customer requirements. The company also offers the service of designing Impact rubbers to suit any new projects.we also manufacture Flame Retardant compound where required. We are presently busy with the development of a composite based impact idler. This idler will eliminate any heat sources which can cause fire ignition when bearings fail. Bearing failure causes the pipe to become extremely hot,and reaches a point whereby the rubber impacts are ignited. There will also be a significant db reduction, as well as a weight saving. The composite Impact roll also helps absorb shock loads. In most cases where the Impact rubbers are too hard, the impact on the roll is transferred to the bearings, which in turn eventually fail. All Conveyor rolls are manufactured in either series 25 or series 30 ( as required). Anti Runback rolls are also manufactured. Belt Training and Tracking Devices We,as a company, have also formed an alliance with one of the leaders in the supply and manufacture of these devices.

His main focus in the business is within the sales and general management functions to enable customer satisfaction and company growth among other activities. Gavin Geyser Gavin has over 25 years manufacturing experience in many areas including the rubber industry. He is a qualified tool maker by trade. His vast knowledge and experience in our business is invaluable. This enables the company to compete with the best in these fields for the benefit of the customer. Gavin is mainly responsible for all production related activities to ensure optimal productivity among other responsibilities.
