Room 019 Agricultural Hall OBJECTIVE : The objective of this course is to develop basic understanding of theory and strategies of planning and management of timber harvesting, techniques including felling, bucking, skidding operation, cable yarding, harvesting cost analysis, safety aspects of harvesting, and principles of forest road building. CLASS NOTES : This is not a textbook, it is a collection of drawing, graphs, and copies from various sources which illustrate important principles of the subject that will be discussed within the course. The student is suggested to take additional notes directly on these pages during the lecture. Supplementary reading assignments will be given to the students during the semester.
