3 Dress for success The official Key Club International dress code will be in effect during all official meetings of the convention as noted in the convention program. All participants are expected to abide by the dress requirements. BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL Dress shirts, slacks, neckties, sport or suit coats and dress shoes for boys; and dresses or suits, skirts, slacks and blouses and dress shoes for girls. Pack professional attire to wear for the House of Delegates, caucusing and recognition and closing session. Three business professional outfits are suggested. What to pack In addition to the appropriate clothing, be sure to bring: Signed medical release and code of conduct forms Signed certificate of election for delegates Costume, music or props for the talent show Headphones/ear buds KEY CLUB WOULD LIKE TO THANK Vision Partners BUSINESS CASUAL Slacks, collared shirts and non-athletic shoes for boys; and slacks, skirts, blouses or collared shirts and non-athletic shoes for girls. Pack business casual attire to wear for workshops and the community impact fair at the Kiwanis World Showcase. Three business casual outfits are suggested. CASUAL Shorts or jeans, collared shirts, sweatshirts or approved T-shirts (see below) and casual footwear, such as athletic shoes or sandals, are appropriate for boys; and shorts, skirts, skorts or jeans, collared shirts, sweatshirts or approved T-shirts (see below) and casual footwear, such as athletic shoes or sandals, for girls. The opening session and free times are the right times to wear your casual attire. Four casual outfits are suggested. Co-sponsor SPIRIT WEAR Bring your favorite spirit gear that best displays your district pride for a chance to win the prestigious title of most spirited district during our Thursday morning session. At no time will any clothing with inappropriate language or graphics be allowed. Any shirts, shorts or skirts deemed to be of inappropriate length will not be allowed. Remember to wear your name badge for all convention events. Total number of outfits does not include attire needed if traveling with a district tour. 4 4 CASUAL OUTFITS Your beloved tennis shoes and flip-flops should only be worn with casual outfits. Other casual clothes for district tours and dances. If you question whether or not something is appropriate, your best bet is just to leave it at home. 5 Amendments All proposed amendments to the Key Club International Bylaws considered by the 2018 House of Delegates will be available online. Check keyclub.org/convention for all the details. If you need a hard copy, please call KIWANIS, ext. 124 (U.S. and Canada only), or (worldwide). Medical release and code of conduct forms To protect you in case of an emergency, Key Club International requires a medical release form for each attendee. The form (online) should be completed by your parent/guardian and signed by your parent/guardian and you. Attendees under the age of 21 will not be permitted to attend any part of the convention without submitting the completed and signed medical release form. By signing the medical form, you also are agreeing to abide by the code of conduct at all Key Club events. The code of conduct is written in full at keyclub.org/convention. Delegates will elect the leaders of Key Club International and vote on any proposed amendments to the bylaws. This certificate of election must be completed and presented to the credentials desk at the international convention. This certifies that the persons named have been selected as delegates by the club. At the convention, there will be a credentials registration area, where each delegate will be issued a delegate wristband, which allows entry into the House of Delegates. 6 Key Club delegate, As an uncompensated delegate to the Key Club International convention, a portion of your expenses may be tax-deductible if: You are a duly-chosen Key Club representative (rather than simply a member of the organization); and You perform Key Club duties while attending this convention. If you meet the requirements above, you might be able to deduct from your taxes reasonable travel, hotel and meal expenses, and registration fees as a charitable contribution to Key Club. If you attended as part of a district tour, please contact your district tour leader for a breakdown of deductible fees.
