16 Questions 1. Given the multiple energy and water management services that hydropower provides, how can hydropower development be optimised to meet the growing clean energy and water needs; and which drivers and challenges will hydropower technology face in order to meet these new expectations? 2. How can we ensure that hydropower will be developed sustainably, ensuring that lessons learned on good practice are incorporated into hydropower planning and operation? 3. How can regional/cross-border development of hydropower help stimulate development of the available resources, while also maximizing benefits? 4. How can the private sector be engaged in hydropower development, and how can markets reward the multiple services that hydropower offers? 5. Given the high investment costs of hydropower, where will the investment come from for developing the world s hydropower potential and how can we mobilize it? 03/10/2015
