ITL is: An SME (Research and Development Company) Concept to product design. Examples: Inspection and measurement systems automotive, food, oil and gas Condition Health monitoring Wind turbines Pipelines Software, firmware and embedded processing Inspection Technologies Ltd +44(0)
Our product: UReactor - A novel low-cost bio-reactor that rapidly accelerates production of ammonia from indoor animal waste slurries. 97% of TAN isolated in a controlled environment and turned into income. Enhances performance of existing Anaerobic Digesters Combustion of ammonia produces water and nitrogen, which are harmless to the environment. Ammonia can be stored as a liquid at very modest pressures of just 6 bar at 25 o C. Liquid ammonia has an energy density of 13 MJ per litre which is 30% higher than liquid hydrogen at conditions that are much easier to maintain and uses cheap, reliable well established technology
User Business Case Scenario One Waste management abatement costs Waste storage and disposal governed by Environmental Permit Regulations (EPR) such as SSAFO This means that management of pig slurry can vary from 7.3 /cubic metre to 17.2 /cubic metre. This represents around 16% of the total production costs for a pig farmer. For a 1,000 head herd and a median slurry management cost of per cubic metre, annual waste management costs would be around 20,500. References: Evaluation of Four Farm-scale Systems for the Treatment of Liquid Pig Manure. Roland W. Melse; Nico Verdoes. Wageningen University and Research Centre (WUR), Agrotechnology & Food Innovations, 14 July 2005
User Business Case: Scenario Two Sale of Renewable Energy Fuel as Liquid Ammonia A 1,000 head herd of pigs can generate ( ) litres of urea-derived liquid ammonia per year. Using lower volume figure and market price (2015) of anhydrous ammonia is 717 USD per ton / 0.80 GBP per litre this provides an annual income to the farmer from ammonia sales of at least 6100 per year per thousand pigs. Thus, to the farmer, meeting the cost of his investment after just 9 months and thereafter the savings on waste management costs, combined with the sales of ammonia could generate an ongoing income of at least a year per thousand pigs and as maybe as much as per year per thousand pigs.
Reactor Suppler: Business Case Initial Market: shall be the UK and EU livestock farming sector and Exisitng Bio Gas and AD 2014 population of 252 million pigs producing 930 million cubic metres of waste annually but also collects some 195 million cubic metres from cattle held indoors during the evening and winter months. Combined total of 1 thousand billion litres of waste material which costs to be stored, costs to be disposed of and is mandated against by EU legislation and International law.
Development stage Feasibility / Market-ready 150-Litre, cellular design reactor vessel: with instrumentation, sensors, control system and automated dispenser of reaction-sustaining phmodulating reagent. Our Interest: Test sites with the aim of installing a beta test unit for evaluation. AD/Biogas/ Piggeries 250K GBP Project Team: Nili Sternbaum (F) Managing Director of ITL; Dr Geoff Diamond (M) Technical Director of ITL; Kevin Kyeyune (M) Development Engineer of ITL; Dr Andrew Wootton (M) Materials Consultant of ITL;
