Airlines highly focused on reducing fuel consumption (accelerating replacement of older/less fuel-efficient aircraft (e.g replaced by 747-8) 4. AAHK working with airlines to: a. Ban use of Auxiliary Power Units at gate (AAHK provides ground power/air-con instead); b. Explore scope to improve taxiing; etc. Aviation industry pledge Their climate targets: a) Average improvement in fuel efficiency 1.5% per year to 2020; b) Cap on CO2 emissions from 2020 (carbon-neutral growth); and c) Reduction in net CO2 emissions 50% by 2050 (2005 base) Cathay Pacific CX s 20/20 sustainable development strategy - 2% year on year fuel efficiency improvement by 2020 from 2009 level (better than industry target)
