2 Welcome to Specflue Our success story began in 1992 with just five employees and 4,000 sq. ft. of office and warehouse space. Today Specflue has grown into the UK s Number One supplier of flue and chimney systems; now employing more than 80 people and utilising over 100,000 sq. ft. This growth led to the opening of our Honiton, Devon depot in 2010, occupying over 20,000 sq. ft. ISO 9001 accreditation was achieved in 1997, followed by ISO accreditation in Specflue is renowned for offering unbiased, independent technical and installation advice via our fully trained Sales and Technical team. This is coupled with our ability to offer the most comprehensive and inclusive product range in the industry, with over 11,000 product lines, many of which can be delivered FREE, the next working day (Highlands and Islands may vary). Our training story began in 2008 with the increased popularity in the solid fuel industry and the introduction of stricter regulations, which required all installers to be HETAS qualified. Since then we have made it our mission to help people achieve these necessary skills and have recently enhanced our course portfolio to include both solid fuel and renewable courses to make this even easier. Centre Hire One of the UK s largest solid fuel and renewable training centres The National Chimney Academy (NCA) and Renewables Centre are available for private hire. We can also organise catering and offer advice on local accommodation if required. For further information please call us on or us at training@specflue.com Tailor Made Training Courses In addition to our standard courses, we are able to offer bespoke courses based upon your company s specific requirements. We are also able to offer on-site training courses (minimum numbers apply). Specflue s Training Division also offers consultative services in all aspects of renewables and solid fuel. 4 Introducing Specflue s Training Division National Chimney Academy (NCA) Since its opening in March 2011, the NCA, based at Specflue s head office in Sudbury, has become the most comprehensive HETAS approved training facility in the UK. Our portfolio of installer and retailer solid fuel courses are taught by some of the best trainers in the industry. All our solid fuel courses offer blended learning; a mixture of both theory and practical training. Warehouse Tours Upon prior request a tour of our impressive warehouse facilities can be arranged. One of the UK s largest HETAS training centres Facilities Include Our solid fuel practical area Two classrooms with wi-fi access for theory training Two practical areas complete with a range of appliances (some of which are live) including stoves, cookers, open fires, pellet stoves and boilers, heat pumps, heat bank technology, solar systems, under floor heating and fully integrated building management systems for practical training Two assessment areas with rigs allowing for practical fault finding exercises on real appliances Roof area showcasing a selection of flues, terminals, fans and weatherings, allowing delegates to see full installations from bottom to top in a safe controlled environment 4
5 Renewables Centre Specflue s Renewable Training Centre officially opened by Lord Teverson (the Liberal Democrat MP for Energy and Climate Change) in May 2012 is one of a only a handful of its kind in the UK. The modern, purpose built training facility, is part of Specflue s passion to set and lead the way in producing the next generation of solid fuel and renewable technology installers and specialists. All our renewable courses offer blended learning; a mixture of both theory and practical training. Comprehensive practical area in our Renewables Centre Why Renewables Our new purpose built Renewables Centre Renewable technology has been present for several years in the UK, however the public awareness of renewables has been limited. This is now changing and the renewable industry has seen significant year on year growth for the previous three years. The introduction of Green Deal and the long awaited Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) will only serve to further develop the renewable market place. Specflue have invested heavily into this purpose built facility, with a passion to ensure renewable installers receive the highest standard of training facilities and delivery. 5
