1 Short Presentation of CERTH/ISFTA Introduction The Institute for Solid Fuels Technology and Applications / Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH/ISFTA) is the main Greek organization for the promotion of research and technological development in the field of improved and integrated exploitation of solid fuels and their by-products, emphasizing in clean energy production. ISFTA s main objective is the optimisation of Greek lignite utilisation in power production, as well as the integrated exploration of solid fuels and their by-products.
2 Modern Building Facilities (1/2) The construction of ISFTA s building of in Ptolemais was completed in Budget 4,24 M Funding Agencies: Municipality of Western Macedonia & GSRT Completion of 1 st Stage
3 Modern Building Facilities (2/2) The studies for the expansion of the building (2 nd Stage) were 2 nd Stage updated in 2010 (to be finalized by GSRT) Institute s branches are in operation in Athens and Thessaloniki In 2010 Athens branch that operates in ARKAT Building was expanded (total area of 135 m 2 )
