3 EPIC Gasification Uses Boiler fuel for existing natural gas boilers Boiler fuel as coal replacement (saves customer expenditure on air pollution control upgrades) Ethanol plants (boilers and power generation) Kiln fuel (cement, minerals, etc.) Process furnaces (glass etc.) IGCC

5 EPIC Air-Blown Coal Gasification Technically proven in operation in China for over 40 years with availability greater than 95%. Modifications made for gas cleanup, mercury removal and H2S removal. Fuel quality acceptable for most gas turbines, boilers and process furnaces. Nominal HV of 200 btu/scf Scalable.
6 Plant Characteristics Standard gasifier is EPIC 2ST Standard plant is two gasifiers. Multiple gasifier modules for higher demand. Can be configured to closely match site needs. Small footprint x 220. Nominal 250 MMbtu per hour per gasifier.
7 The Gasifier Fixed Bed EPIC 2ST-3.6 Large installed base Designed to produce fuel gas Primarily Air-blown but O2 enrichment is possible Typical gas composition (air-blown): 31.5% CO, 19.7% H2, 4.3% CO2, 39.6% N2, 4.7% CH4 and 0.2% CxHy, 10 PPM H2S with a HHV of 216 BTU/SCF (LHV of 201 BTU/SCF)
