LNG IS FUTURE FUEL, TODAY. In the LNG process, natural gas is cooled to -162 C. This changes it into a clear, colourless, non-toxic liquid that occupies up to 600 times less space and is easier to transport and store. The LNG is then shipped to its destination, where it is returned to natural gas at regasification facilities and then piped to homes, businesses and industries. Odourless, non-toxic and noncorrosive, the LNG is a safe, environmentally friendly fuel that, once converted to natural gas, also produces relatively low emissions. Even when it is exposed to the environment it rapidly evaporates, leaving no residue on the water or soil - so a spill won t result in a slick.
