1 HSA GREEN CLUB Harmony School of Advancement, Houston, TX Teacher advisor: Bhavna Rawal Student Presidents: Nundini Rawal, Isis Romero, Opal Jha Summary of our Project: 1. Run recycling program effectively in HSA 2. Help community for the environmental protection activities such as Texas river pals, beach cleaning, Jesse jones Nature Park, planting plants etc. 3. Increase awareness of energy savings activities in house, schools and public places by brochures, posters, booths and interviews. To educate referring energy savings in our classmates, parent, families, school and community. 4. Activities related to energy, renewable and non-renewable energy, inner workings of solar car, wind turbine, hydrogen fuel cell car, solar oven and miniature greenhouse etc. to understand conservation of energy.

4 Attention All! Our green club needs empty plastic water bottles and soda cans. Please do not throw them in a regular trash can. We are providing plastic and can recycling boxes to every teacher. Please drop it to appropriate boxes or in room 203. We will collect them on Friday during our club time. PLASTIC RECYCLING 1. 14 Greenhouse Research Project Research the following three questions. 1. What are three factors that affect the carbon emissions that come from producing the food we eat? 2. Why do people suggest the 100-mile limit rule of thumb for buying food? Does it reduce carbon emissions? 3. How does a greenhouse work to help plants grow? Answer the above questions in 1-2 double-spaced pages, and cite your work using APA. You will need at least 6 sources, 3 of them print sources. ENERGY ACTIVITIES 1.
