5 Wellhead Desanders Simplicity and Value Cetco s Solid Desanders series uses centrifugal motion to cause two liquids having different specific gravities, such as solids and water, to separate in an efficient process. The advanced Solids Desander separates significantly more solids from water than conventional solid and water separation equipment, allowing our customers to operate under more stringent environmental standards and regulations. The New Standard in Solid/Water Separation Cetco s Solids Desanders are engineered and sized to cover a wide range of capacities and applications using standard designs to provide reliability, cost effectiveness, service accessibility and shortened delivery time. 8 Compact Flotation Vessels CrudeSep Produced Water Treatment System for highefficiency removal of oil, gas and solids. CrudeSep is an unparalleled technology which separates oil, water, gas, and solids at variable flow ranges. Based on application of fluid dynamics, the CrudeSep is a novel technology which eliminates the dependency on gravitational separation prolific in traditional methods. The inlet and outlet are located at the bottom of the vessel. The whole body of water is directed in a controlled vertical flow pattern towards a primary interface where droplets break out and accumulate. The return flow interacts with a series of specially engineered interfaces which encourage swirling eddies to form. These forced eddy currents propel the oil droplets towards additional gas interface surfaces for breakout and collection. Oil accumulated on these surfaces combines to form much larger oil droplets which join the main body of flow. These are now of a significantly larger size and interact with the initial interface at the top of the fluid column. The vessel also works as a degassing unit as entrained gas will break out and be released with the separated oil particles. 9 FPOS ENERGY SERVICES produced water technology group Consultancy Fluid Process & Optimisation Study (FPOS) Cetco have a long history of produced water experience including analysis, optimisation and treatment. The standard approach for this kind of problem is to carry out the process profile (FPOS) survey in an objective and scientific manner. The FPOS report can then be used to further inform product selection and CAPEX/OPEX decision making. Cetco draws on substantial industry experience to optimise existing plant before testing and recommending technologies. Our objective is to inform best available technology/best environmental practice (BAT/BEP) for produced water treatment and discharge, keeping operators ahead of regulatory trends requiring a risk based approach (RBA) to whole effluent toxicity (WET). The following information is a pre-requisite to any survey undertaking in order to generate a meaningful FPOS report: Details of the current OPPC and PON permit complete with chemical usage information Desired treatment target Process flow diagram (PFD) Process & instrumentation drawing (P&ID) General arrangement drawings (GAD) Historic data on the character of the fluid Historic data on particle/droplet size distribution within the fluid 9
10 Cetco Energy Services Hi-Flow process can treat high rates of produced water, allowing the operator to return the produced water back into the environment in compliance with governmental regulations. Our Hi-Flow Process gives you the flexibility you need in having one solution for many applications - the Hi-Flow process can handle small to large volumes of liquid, from 1,000 BWPD to more than 40,000 BWPD; it is not hindered by large fluctuations in oil inlets; it can be used on projects with short or long durations. With a deep media bed channelling is eliminated. Backwashing the media easily removes oil and solids from the vessel. Pneumatic or electrically actuated valves control the vessel functions automatically via skid PLC or facility DCS. Flow rates of up to 50,000BWPD per vessel are easily handled. 11 CrudeSorb Filters Cetco s CrudeSorb Filters are a proprietary adsorption media, based on resin, polymer and clay technolgy, proven to be extremely efficient at removing oil and soluble organics from water. It is used for the removal of hydrocarbons from wastewater streams to allow fluids to be discharged directly and safely into the environment. The CrudeSorb equipment has been a fundamental part of Cetco s Water Treatment Services since the company s inception. : Excellent Oil in Water removal qualities Removes free, emulsified and dissolved organics/hydrocarbons Can reduce contaminant levels to zero Solids tolerant - less than 100ppm. The media is more tolerant if the solids are less than 20 micron Extremely efficient at removing oil and soluble organics Easy change out of media Tolerates surging inflow Handles high concentrations/oil slugging Cetco s GAC Filters are primarily used to remove organic molecules from aqueous solutions. For this reason carbon GAC is more effective than CrudeSorb on compounds with higher solubilities. GAC is used as a polishing media. Inlet concentrations might normally be <10 ppm of a target compound. GAC is often capable of polishing to ppb and even ppt levels, if there is adequate contact time. GAC has been used for many years as the best available technology for adsorbing toxic organics from aqueous streams. Cetco will typically use GAC downstream from CrudeSorb to polish process effluents before going overboard with treated water. GAC will absorb some oilfield chemicals that CrudeSorb is not effective on. Effective as a polishing or tertiary technology to meet demanding discharge requirements.
