2 GLOBAL HEALTH TRUE LEADERS (GHTL) was designed to solve those problems. It is a leadership training that focus on building and improving collaboration among health and health-related students to tackle global issues. It aims to strengthen the capacity to coordinate and collaborate, and to lead trans-disciplinary workforce team to prevent, detect, and respond to emerging global health threats. This will be a strategic investment to promote multidisciplinary work among One Health workforce from different professions, local government and related stakeholders in Indonesia.

6 GLOBAL HEALTH AND LEADERSHIP TRAINING The participants will be receive in depth analysis and conceptualized work about global issues and challenges by international and national experts. It will focus on issues that have a strong interconnection towards the subjects of animal health, human health, and environmental health in disaster situation. These sessions not only aim to have participants grasp a greater understanding of global issues, but they will also learn about how to detect, respond, and prevent problems together across disciplines.

7 SIMULATION AND DISCUSSION Trainings will be interactive in which the participants will perform exercises after public lectures. The exercises are various in nature ranging to role play, social communication practice, to public speaking simulation. This is so participants can improve their skills to in speaking and sharing their ideas. To further train participants to respond to dynamics, they will have many roles which have different responsible in different cases in disaster situation.

8 LOCAL UNDERSTANDING AND EMPOWERMENT Following activities done in a classroom setting, participants will exercise their knowledge and skills to the real conditions in local areas. Participants will have a chance to do fieldwork activity to improve their understanding about culture and implement the knowledge that have been discussed. Participants will visit local communities to live with them directly experience a different culture. This year, participants will have opportunity to visit a village that has been rehabilitated after disaster.

9 CULTURAL EXCHANGE Participants will have an opportunity to build their cross cultural awareness skill. Essentially, it means that, as you go about your daily life, you operate with the awareness that cultural differences between yourself and the people you meet exist without assigning them value. You see our differences as a positive thing, and don t consider one culture better or worse, right or wrong specially during and after disaster situation.

10 THE CONDITION OF INDONESIA Located in 3 tectonic plates including Indo-Australia plate, Eurasia plate, dan Pacific plate makes Indonesia vulnerable to have several natural disasters such as earthquake and following disaster. According to Indonesia Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency report, Indonesia has around 400 earthquakes each month. Recently, Indonesia has been shaken by 3 earthquakes in Lombok-West Nusa Tenggara, Donggala- Sulawesi, and Situbondo. The impact of this massive earthquake killed more than thousands of people, destroyed many buildings, and disrupted railway and road systems.

11 THINGS TO BE CONCERNED (1) endemic and epidemic diseases that are common in the affected area; (2) living conditions of the affected population, including number, size, location, and density of settlements; (3) availability of safe water and adequate sanitation facilities; (4) underlying nutritional status and immunization coverage among the population; and (5) degree of access to healthcare and to effective case management.

12 THEME THIS YEAR DISASTER MANAGEMENT This training will promote and raise awareness issue related to health impact, collaboration, and coordination after natural disaster. This training will be divided into 2 main activities including in-class training and fieldwork. In-class training, it will bring up the silent impact after natural disaster issue, adaptive leadership in earthquake condition, also earthquake preparedness, response and rehabilitation plan. Moreover, the fieldwork will learn about community organizing and participatory development in community after the disaster.
