1 *Must be a member to sit on a committee Building and Grounds: This committee works with the Grounds Manager to work year round on maintenance and repairs on the buildings, the grounds, and equipment. It works with the office to insure proper information is going out to the potential vendors and keeps maps and information on vendor locations up to date. Camping/Camp Ground Coordinator This group works on the layout and over all coordination for the vendor and exhibitor camping areas during the annual fair. 2 Entertainment: This committee works to establish entertainment throughout the grounds during the annual fair. This committee has three subcommittees: Grandstands, Grounds, and Pavilion. 3 Fair Improvement: This committee works to improve the annual fair and the fairgrounds through bringing in new ideas for activities, beautification of the grounds and much more. This committee is to work with the office to make sure all bills, deposits, and statements are scanned and properly filed by the end of each month for a month end close to better prepare for the yearly audit. Home Arts (Non-Livestock): This committee is responsible for all of the Non-Livestock Open and Junior Open Departments. All superintendents and assistance are on this committee. They need to make sure all changes are correct for the departments in the fair book. They find judges for the show. They assist or schedule help for setting up the buildings and show areas along with check in, the show, monitoring the building and check out. 4 Junior Fair Board: The Adult Advisors will work with the Junior Fair Board which will be made up of 20 young adults from 14 to 21 years of age. Kelly Sadowski (Adult Advisor) (815) Liz Woolridge (Adult Advisor) (815) Livestock: This committee is responsible for all of the Livestock Open and Junior Open Departments. All superintendents and assistance are on this committee. They need to make sure all changes are correct for the departments in the fair book. They find judges for the show. They assist or schedule help for setting up the buildings, milk house and show areas along with check in, the show, monitoring the barns and check out. This committee also will find a fair vet and assist the vet during the course of the fair. This committee is responsible for keeping track of the scheduled events, establishing contracts, setting up and paying the deputies when applicable, and checking the events in and out. 5 Personnel and Membership: This committee works to communicate monthly with the staff to make sure we are on track. They hold yearly reviews with the full time staff. They put together the employment plan and budget it accordingly for the year. They also send out reminders for membership when it is due and assist in the annual meeting and voting in Board Members. This committee also works with the office to proof and create the quarterly member s newsletter to help keep all members informed on what is going on around the fairgrounds. Publicity and Sponsorship: The committee will work on creating a sponsorship packet and work to gain sponsorships for the annual fair and other events during the year. They will also work publicity for the annual fair and other events during the year. They will also do the final proof for placement of ads and over all layout of the Fair Book before printing. Queen Contest: This committee runs the annual Pageant for Miss McHenry County, including all practices, the event itself and preparing the queen for the State Competition in January. Safety, Security, Parking and Gates: This committee is responsible for a number of tasks during our annual fair including: safety and security, parking, working with the Sheriff, Fire Department and EMS for the command post to watch weather. They are also responsible for a safety and security plan for during fair and other events on the fairgrounds. This committee will also have a subcommittee that will work with staffing the gates during the fair and working with the treasurer and security to handle money properly. 6 Special Events: This committee will plan and carry out events that are held by the McHenry County Fair Association outside of the annual fair. These include but are not limited to the Holiday Faire, Spring Fiber Fling, Flea Markets/Garage Sales, and Scare at the Fair/Taste of McHenry County.
