2 Helping to meet your HR needs The pressures on HR teams within organisations have never been greater. In order to help your organisation meet the challenges of an ever-changing healthcare landscape, your HR function needs to be flexible and responsive.

3 A quality provider of HR consultancy services Jenny Harding, Sussex Community NHS Trust Often these demands will emerge as one, or a number of, one-off projects or support needs: a major investigation; a structural review; reviews of policies and procedures; reviews of pay and terms and conditions of service; design and delivery of training; provision of dedicated HR expertise for a short period. The financial pressures to reduce the cost of support functions such as HR will mean it is often more cost effective to package these projects as consultancy exercises; that way you can procure the skills you want when you want them at a fixed price.

We offer a suitably qualified team of experienced HR consultants who can offer: Independent investigations into disciplinary, grievance or associated matters including doctors and directors. Best practice guidance on policy framework, TUPE transfers etc. Leading edge HR practice reviews of pay and terms and conditions within or outside national conditions to meet local needs. Recruitment and workforce planning. Major restructuring exercises in clinical or non-clinical / frontline service reorganisations; this can include reviews of HR activities and functions. Independent and senior presence on disciplinary or appeals panels. Design and support for diversity programmes and initiatives management, HR and best practice. Design and delivery of training programmes. Provision of dedicated HR expertise on a locum basis for a period of time.

5 HR Consultancy Services The benefits Either the in-house HR team, or your managers, are freed up to concentrate on delivery of core services. We can provide independent, impartial and arms length expertise which is often preferable to ensure objectivity for the issue in question. We can share best practice advice gained from our expertise with a range of healthcare, public and not for profit bodies. If the assignment is complex and has a legal component we will seek legal advice from one of the firm s 30 employment lawyers and build this advice into our work at no extra cost. If for some reason we cannot resource the project ourselves, we can recommend the services of one of our trusted partners who have a track record of delivery of quality assignments in these areas. Frequently asked questions Does it work? Yes. We have a track record of delivery in this field and we often receive repeat instructions in these areas of work. What if my problem requires senior level input? We can offer advice and input up to and including HR director level we have extensive experience in managing issues for directors, doctors and other senior staff. HR consultants are very expensive aren t they? Some are but our charges are modest - please call us for a quote. Do you have the capacity to meet my needs? Usually, yes. We have a team of 20 experienced HR specialists who can deliver these services and we aim to provide a fast and timely response, and access to a wider pool of associates on a national basis.
