7 2 PUBLISHABLE SUMMARY WP04: Task Assignment and Dynamic Scheduling 2.1 Motivation and Objectives The objective of this work package is to design and develop a Hybrid Assembly Scheduling System. This system is responsible for deploying to the LIAA framework the optimal way of executing assembly job(s) in order to meet the stakeholder s requirements. Uniform assembly task description as well as uniform resource capability model are used offline to allocate tasks to potential resources. The outcome will be used for online assembly scheduling based on evaluating multiple criteria. 2.2 Approach and Concept Figure 2-1: WP04 summarized approach diagram 2.3 Expected Benefits Re-configurability Increased Flexibility Minimized investment cost 2.4 Contact Information First name Last name Organization Kostas Kaltsoukalas kkaltso@lms.mech.upatras.gr LMS Nikos Papakostas papakost@lms.mech.upatras.gr LMS LIAA Page 7 of 47
