1 Overview of using the online tool to gain insights into your data

2 How do I navigate my Tell Dell results and create an action plan in the tool? ONLINE TOOL HOMEPAGE Click on the My Leader Report box to download a ppt or pdf version of your leader report Click on the Action planning resources box to download a pdf version of the action planning resources available for each item in the survey Click on the How to access additional results in the online tool box for a guide on how to use the online tool to dig deeper into your results

4 Filter Data: For selecting the group(s) you want to analyze To select a filter, click on New Filter under the Filter Data icon Filters that you have access to are: All Leaders: Your Org Roll-Up Your DRs Your DRs Org Roll-Up Your DRs DRs Only Executives: Region Country Sales Indicator Remote Indicator Grade Band Manager Indicator

5 Filter Data: How to filter your data to select & analyze your Direct Reports or your entire Org Roll-Up data To select a filter, click on New Filter under the Filter Data icon To only view and analyze your direct report data, select Manager s Direct Reports and then select your own name. Click submit. *Note that you can add as many filters as you want. Only scores for groups that are 5 or larger will be shown. To view and analyze your entire org roll-up data, select Manager s Org Roll-Up and then select your own name. Click submit. Note that, by default, the tool will be set to your org roll-up.

6 Filter Data: How to filter your data to select & analyze data from the teams of any manager rolling-up or reporting to you To select a filter, click on New Filter under the Filter Data icon To view and analyze data from a manager s direct report team (i.e. the direct report team of a manager who is in your org roll-up), select Manager s Direct Reports and then select the name of the manager whose DR team you want to analyze. Click submit. *Note that you can add as many filters as you want. Only scores for groups that are 5 or larger will be shown. To view and analyze data from a manager s org roll-up (i.e. the org roll-up of a manager who is in your org), select Manager s Org Roll-Up and then select the name of the manager whose org roll-up you want to analyze. Click submit.

7 Filter Data: For selecting the demographic group(s) you want to analyze To select a filter, click on New Filter under the Filter Data icon Select the group(s) within the field that you want to analyze (e.g. APJ) To add another filter, click on further refine filter Select the field that you want (e.g. region) Click submit filter to save the filter(s) you ve selected Select the second field that you want (e.g. sales indicator) *Note that you can add as many filters as you want. Only scores for groups that are 5 or larger will be shown. Group selected: Sales team members in APJ Click submit filter to save the filter(s) you ve selected

8 Filter Data: Saving the filter (group) that you have selected To save a filter, click on Save Filter under the Filter Data icon *Note that saving a filter will allow you to easily retrieve the filter Give your filter a name and click save

9 Filter Data: Once a filter is selected, all analyses in the tool will be based on this filter E.g. All the scores in the favorability report reflect APJ Sales team members E.g. All the scores in the comments report reflect APJ Sales team members

10 Filter Data: Clear the filter if you want to analyze a different group Click on Clear filter to remove the filter from your analyses. If you have saved a filter, you can always retrieve it by clicking on Retrieve Saved Filter

11 Favorability Report: For detailed item scores Click on the Favorability Report icon Export the charts into pdf or excel Click on the ascending/descending bars to arrange items accordingly.

12 Comments Report: For analyzing open-ended comments Click on the Modify button to select the question you want to analyze *Note that comment report can only be accessible if minimum criteria of 20 open-ended comments per group is reached.

14 Comments Report: For analyzing open-ended comments Click on the Comments Report icon Export comments or word clouds into pdf or excel View raw comments, word/theme frequencies, or word clouds You can do a key word search for raw comments Click on the Modify button to select the question you want to analyze *Note that comment report can only be accessible if minimum criteria of 20 open-ended comments per group is reached.

15 Demographic Breakdown: For cutting the data by different populations in your team/org Click on Demographic Breakdown under the Comparison Report icon *Note that you need a minimum of 10 team members within your team or org roll-up to do any demographic cuts

16 Demographic Breakdown: For viewing the side-by-side Org Roll-Up or Team scores of managers rolling up to you [similar to an excel hotsheet] To view the side-by-side team scores of manager(s) in your org roll-up (i.e. scores of managers direct reports), click on Manager s Direct Reports. Then click Submit. You will see a column for every manager in your org who has team results above the reporting threshold (n=5 and above). To view the side-by-side org roll-up scores of manager(s) in your org, click on Manager s Org Roll-Up. Then click Submit. You will see a column for every manager in your org who has org results above the threshold (n=5 and above). To view the side-by-side org roll-up scores of manager(s) who roll up to any of your direct reports, click on Direct Report s Org Roll-Up and select the names of the managers whose direct reports org roll-up scores you want to view. Click submit. E.g., Jane Phillips and Mark Wellington are leaders who report to Joe Black. Joe Black reports to Mary Smith. For Mary Smith to view the breakdown of Joe Black s org by manager, she can select Direct Report s Org Roll-Up and then select Joe Black s name. This would enable Mary to view the org roll-up scores of Mark & Jane. To view the side-by-side team scores of manager(s) who roll up to any of your direct reports, click on Direct Report s Direct Reports and select the names of the managers whose direct reports team scores you want to view. Click submit. E.g., Jane Phillips and Mark Wellington are leaders who report to Joe Black. Joe Black reports to Mary Smith. For Mary Smith to view the breakdown of Joe Black s direct report s teams (i.e. direct reports), she can select Direct Report s Direct Reports and then select Joe Black s name. This would enable Mary to view the team scores of Mark & Jane.

17 Demographic Breakdown: For cutting the data by Region in your team/org From the drop-down menu in the Demographic Breakouts box, select the field you want to analyze (e.g. Region). You can select a second field by clicking on the (+) icon. Exporting data to excel Region Breakdown

18 Trend Report: For comparing YoY trends Click on Trend Report under the Comparison Report icon

19 Trend Report: For comparing YoY trends Exporting data to excel of pdf Scores displayed across the last 2 years *Note that only items included in Tell Dell in the previous years will be displayed

20 External Benchmark Report: For comparing item scores with external companies Click on External Benchmark Report under the Comparison Report icon

21 External Benchmark Report: Selecting your benchmarks you want for comparison From the drop-down menu, select the benchmark(s) you want for comparison

22 External Benchmark Report: Comparing your item scores with your selected benchmarks Your selected benchmark(s) will be displayed beside your scores *Note that only similar items to those used in other companies will be displayed

23 Leader Tile Report: For analyzing the most frequently selected area(s) your team wants you to focus on Click on Leader Tile Report under the Reference Reports icon

24 Leader Tile Report: For analyzing the most frequently selected area(s) your team wants you to focus on Tiles representing your focus areas will be highlighted *Note that if you do not have distinct focus areas selected, no tile will be highlighted.

31 Action Plans: Access the action planning resource guide ONLINE TOOL HOMEPAGE Click on the Action planning resources box to download a pdf version of the action planning resources available for each item in the survey Click on the How to access additional results in the online tool box for a guide on how to use the online tool to dig deeper into your results

32 Action Plans: How to create & manage your action plan? Click on View/Modify Action Plan under the Action Plans icon *Note that leaders will be able to view the action plans of managers reporting to them

33 Action Plans: Reviewing Resources & Creating/Tracking Your Action Plan Click on the information icon beside an item to learn more about what you can do to improve in this area Click on (+) icon to create your action plan, including your action items, desired outcome, & target completion dates. Track your action plan over time and update the status of your action item. Click Save after you complete your action plan.

34 Action Plans: Editing & Downloading Your Action Plan Click on the pen icon to edit your action plan at any time Click on the folder icon to download your action plan into a pdf or excel file
