2 WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PLAN The Facilities and Services Division is committed to providing a workplace that is safe and healthy for all staff, students, contractors and visitors. To this end the Division has developed the Workplace Health and Safety Improvement Plan. The successful implementation of the Workplace Health and Safety Improvement Plan is dependent upon the commitment of all staff within the Division. Purpose The aim of Workplace Health and Safety Improvement Plan is to address the identified workplace health and safety risks within the Division. This plan outlines the Division s strategies for minimising our risks to ensure a safe workplace for all. 4 Goal 1 Revise and strengthen the operation and outcomes of the Division s Workplace Health and Safety Committee. Develop a term of reference for the operation of the F&S WHS Committee. Provide support to the WHS Committee through the provision of high quality secretariat services. Develop, monitor and review the Division s Workplace Health and Safety Improvement Plan. 5 Goal 2 Improve the safety culture and awareness of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) within the Division. Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) develop an annual schedule of workplace inspections, in consultation with the Chair of the WHS Committee HSRs and Committee Chair September 2012 December 2012 Create a Workplace Inspection Schedule for 2013, with WHS Committee and support of Functional Area Managers to conduct workplace inspections, and report to the WHS Committee. Establish an employee induction program that includes information on WHS, identifies WHS training requirements and ensures these training requirements are completed.
