YMCA Annual Campaign Family Campaign Board and Staff
Today s Agenda Celebrate success! 30 seconds to share your progress/plans to date Staff Giving Board Giving Benchmarking Your Campaign Consider a Mid-Campaign Rally Bonus Tip Q&A
Staff Giving: Group Sharing Status of campaign Past Successes and challenges Departmental Incentives What motivates each department? Fitness Dept microphone for instructors Aquatics Dept staff party Youth Sports Dept New Staff shirts Setting 100% caution Are staff donating $1 per staff to achieve this or thoughtfully asking each staff person to donate? Should this % be based on % of dept giving for the previous year?
Staff Giving Face to Face Teams To Accomplish Things to Consider in Face to Face staff asks: Staff are some of our most dedicated donors. We spend a lot of time thinking about how to ask donors face to face - why don t we treat staff with that same level of consideration? Asking staff face to face role models to them how to talk with members about the campaign. How To Implement: Do you have a team of staff solicitors to ask Each staff person face to face? Team should consist of staff from all time/day segments. Post list with 15 min visits during all shifts and have staff sign up. Set timeline and track weekly - recognize accomplishments by staff solicitors weekly.
Staff Giving Incentives Create a Staff Donor wall - each staff who donates, gets their name on the wall. Place staff quotes about the importance of the campaign under their names. Staff receive their campaign t-shirts when they pledge. Share staff Y stories in weekly staff donor newsletter during staff giving campaign. Others?
Staff Giving: Keys to Success Motivated leadership Team structure Face to face peer solicitations Friendly competition Constant communication on progress Recognition and celebration Opportunity for departmental banner
Board Giving: Group Sharing Status of campaign Past Successes and challenges Board leadership challenges/incentives What motivates your Board? Setting board giving goals Does your group have an overall board giving goal?
Board Giving Current Branch Board Giving Status Board giving goal National benchmark Personal gifts = 30% of branch campaign goal Board members Give and Get Board/Staff/Major Gifts = 60% of branch goal
Board Giving Solicitation Team Things to Consider in Face to Face Board asks: Board members are some of our most dedicated donors. We spend a lot of time thinking about how to ask donors face to face - why don t we treat Board members with that same level of consideration? Asking Board members face to face role models to them how to talk with donors and prospects about the campaign. Ways to Implement and Challenge: Challenge from board leadership Association tracks branch board giving in associationwide newsletter weekly Association extends a challenge and reward to first branch with 100% board giving Tight timeline
Board Giving Recognition Recognize your board with the level banner of their cumulative gifts - hang before year end to communicate dedication of your In addition, encourage board members to give at the banner recognition level for their own banner - hang before year end. Pushbacks on personal board banners - Why is it important for board members to have their own banner?
