Setting cycle of the RIVSET tool The development at Klauke features the well approved Klauke battery powered hydraulics. Material layers are joined by a semi-tubular rivet in a single step with no pre-drilling, little noise and no emissions, producing an interlocked friction joint. The rivet is designed to penetrate through the top material and is spread under the infl uence of a die positioned below the lower material. As this lower material is not pierced the resulting joint is localised and impervious to gas and liquid. Based on the different requirements Klauke developed special C-heads in varying types to be used with existing tools. The advantages are obvious the connection is high strength, suitable for visual inspection and repeatable. Due to its long standing experience and a high degree of innovation Wirtgen is the worldwide market leader of cold milling machines. Time-consuming manual changing cycles of the built in cutting teeth at building sites initiated the development of a new tool. Wirtgen was convinced of the value of the development capability of Klauke. For mobile operation the appropriate Klauke battery operated hydraulic tool is being used to extract the cutting teeth, featuring the klauke designed special pressing head for Wirtgen cutting machines. The Klauke battery operated hydraulic tool extractors not only extracts the cutting teeth but also replaces these teeth in a reverse function. The average extraction time per tooth is less than 5 seconds. Advantages for Wirtgen: Significant ease of work for the user by excellent mobility and easy handling of the tool. The high battery capacity of the battery powered Klauke tools ensures short downtimes and quick exchange of the cutting teeth.
