Rectification of retraction problems involved fitting appropriate test set and manual adjustment of micro-switches. XXX Port Main Landing Gear caused damage to rear spar when shrink link mechanism failed to extend on leg extension. Fault traced to leaking upper oleo Nitrogen chamber resulting in inadequate Nitrogen pressure to extend the leg, plus faulty pressure gauge for the Port upper oleo where the needle was permanently stuck in the green sector, incorrectly indicating adequate nitrogen pressure within the chamber. XXX variable pitch propeller requires adjustment of the engine speeds and relative blade positions to achieve a minimal vibration and noise levels within the cabin. Involves setting engine idle as a reference point and adjustment of propeller blades to specific angles, then measuring and adjusting as required at various engine RPM to achieve the desired levels.
