3 Job Description Form for the Employment and Training Supervisor Is made on xxxxxxx BETWEEN: 1. The Elouera Association (Inc) (the Organisation) Wallendoon Street (PO Box 271) Cootamundra NSW XXXXXX XXXXXX XXXXXX 1. Purpose and This document is to be read in conjunction with the Letter of Offer. It details the duties of the Employment and Training Supervisor at Elouera Industries which is a division of the Elouera Association Inc. As the positions responsibilities changes, this document can be updated to reflect this with the agreement of all parties. In general the duties are the performance points that will be assessed when a performance review is undertaken by the Chief Executive Officer. 2. Employment and Training Supervisor The Employment and Training Supervisor s role is to work with and train staff and employees with a disability in timber work in particular the manufacturing of pallets and any other tasks as required. The Employment and Training Supervisor assists with the compliance with the National Disability Standards and Individual Training Plans of Employees at our Australian Disability Enterprises. The Employment and Training Supervisor:- Work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Quality and Training Officer in meeting the Disability Employment Standards and in developing Individual plans and maintaining ongoing training records. To manufacture pallets in commercial quantities at a high standards and in accordance with the AWPCS requirements. To be fully involved in the marketing of the business, its products and services. To meet sales budget and be aware of costings and expenditure. Job Description Form Employment and Training Supervisor 2

4 Facilitate appropriate workplace modification or changes in work practices to facilitate the employment of individuals with a disability.. Conduct regular internal audits of all policies and procedures related to the maintenance of the National Disability Standards. Maintain a good understanding of the operation of all equipment Work with and liaise with customers in their dealings with Elouera Industries. Carry out inspections and maintenance of all equipment and organise when trades persons are required for repairs or maintenance Work with other staff and employee's in maintaining the factory and grounds in a safe and tidy manner that meets WHS requirements. To propose changes and suggestions that will see improvements in the operation. To understand, and follow all policies of the Elouera Association (Inc). To represent the Elouera Association (Inc) and people with a disability in a positive way at all times Counsel employees as required and seek advice when necessary. Be responsible for conducting training sessions on the job and at the Head Office Training facility for items such as:- (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) (v) (vi) Inductions OHS&W The National Standards Policies Human Rights and Dignity Others as Required Undertake projects as required by the Chief Executive Officer 3. Administrative Role Requires the ability to maintain the administrative requirements of a small business including, purchase orders, job sheets, AWPCS Records, time sheets, workers compensation reporting, meeting records and training records etc. Job Description Form Employment and Training Supervisor 3

5 Working with all departments to implement the standards and training plans that meet the needs and goals of individuals with a disability. The Employment and Training Supervisor will assist the Chief Executive Officer and Quality and Training Officer with the following :- Conducting staff and employee training Developing workable policies and procedures and recording these as part of the AWPCS and QA Manual.. Ensuring all required documentation and record keeping is being carried out by all staff on a regular basis. Working with Head Office staff on accounts requirements. 4. Training Plans and Workplace Support This role involves working closely with the Quality and Training Officer. The Employment and Training Supervisor and Quality and Training Officer will be jointly develop and implement the individual training plans. This will involve:- Meeting with employees and service users to inform them that a planning meeting will soon be conducted. Discuss the process and what it means and seek from the individual if they would like the support of an advocate in the process having them sign the consent forms to do this.. Meeting with the Quality and Training Officer prior to the planning meeting to discuss the individual and the goals the workplace may have in workplace training they believe the individual would benefit from. Organising the planning meeting with the employee, their advocate and the Quality and Training Officer. Participate in the meeting or arrange for other staff more appropriate to do so where desirable. Review the individual plan with the Quality and Training Officer adding any supporting documentation required in the training file ready to implement the training plan. 6 5. Training Records Monitor training records made by staff providing advice and support in doing so. The training records or activity records need to reflect the training being carried out at the workplace. All staff will need to keep these records transferring them to the files however the Employment and Training Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring this is happening. Ensure all records that should be kept, are being kept. Sign off any completed training where the individual s goals have been met. 6 Australian Wood Packaging Certification Scheme (AWPCS) Elouera Industries has in place the AWPCS that needs to be adhered to and records maintained completely to ensure we maintain our licence to sell export quality pallets. You are to become familiar with AWPCS requirements. Implement all tracking numbers so material can be fully traced back to point of purchase.. Ensure timber used is all AWPCS certified and any bark is removed.. To ensure no cross contamination can occur.. 7. Sales and Marketing. The Employment and Training Supervisor will be involved in marketing and sales with the Chief Executive Officer. Identifying potential customers and discussing our products, prices and how we can best meet their needs.. Pricing pallets to maintain a 25-35% mark up on every pallet sold. Following up on sales to ensure we fully met the customers needs. 8. WHS The Employment and Training Supervisor will be responsible for the WHS systems as per the Elouera Association (Inc) WHS Manual. This will include Working with staff on the preparation of Safe Work Method Statements and Risk Assessments Job Description Form Employment and Training Supervisor 5

7 Conducting internal audits of the WHS system, workplace safety and compliance with policies Providing WHS Training Report Writing 9. Outcomes The measure of success in this position will be a financially viable business that fully meets the individual needs of the people with a disability working there. A good Employment and Training Supervisor will have the training and support needs fully in balance with the Business needs.
