3 Transparency in material flows The right material, in the right quantity and quality, just in time and at the right place: This is a key challenge for manufacturing companies. It is equally important to have an overview of the quantity and location of finished or semi- finished products. The HYDRA module Material & Production Logistics (MPL) was specifically developed to control material flows and to monitor material stocks in production. In a typical ERP system, raw materials and inventories of finished goods are usually posted in a retrograde manner once the complete production order has been finished. Conversely, HYDRA MPL offers a significantly higher level of detail in addition to substantially shorter delay times. When using HYDRA MPL, you can count the produced articles and semi-finished goods at any production level, by means of so-called material buffers or WIP ( Work-in-Process) stocks. Hence when using MPL, a user could have precise and up-to-date information about material consumption, and produced stocks that are available to them at any time. Additionally, HYDRA MPL provides essential functions to optimize in-house transport processes.

HYDRA MPL covers a wide range of master data and offers a broad spectrum of individual configurations: Creation and maintenance of material buffers, WIP stocks and their properties Individual definition of material stock limits for warnings and alarms Configuration of expiry periods Needs-based definition of transport units Definition of any number of Kanban closed loops Configurable input dialogs for the shop floor terminal Escalation management including extensive configurations Flexible interfaces to warehouse and material management systems and ERP systems When using HYDRA MPL in the electronic industry, the module can factor in the moisture sensitivity level (MSL).
