1 SING TAO DAILY 29 th Anniversary Scratch & Win Game and Grand Lucky Draw Rules and Regulations Contest Period: Scratch & Win starts September 8 th and is scheduled to end on October 6 th, Grand Lucky Draw starts September 8 th and is scheduled to end on October 22 nd, Contest Organizers: The contest organizers are Sing Tao Daily (Western Canada Edition) and their respective employees. Eligibility: The contest is open to all British Columbia residents aged 18 or over with the exception of employees and immediate family members of the Contest Organizers. How to enter: Scratch & Win game cards are inserted in Sing Tao Daily (Western Canada Edition) from September 8 th to October 6 th, Game cards are also available without purchase (see details below). There are two ways to participate and to win the contest: (1) Instant prize (2) Grand Lucky Draw No purchase necessary: To obtain a game card without purchasing, please send a written request and self addressed stamped envelope to Sing Tao Daily Scratch & Win Game Card Request. Marketing Department, 8508 Ash Street, Vancouver, BC V6P 3M2. Availability limited to one request per person. All requests must include your name and return mailing address. How to Claim Your Instant Prize Scratch the play area on the game card to see the revealed message. If the message revealed is prize message, you are a potential winner. To be eligible to win a prize you must first correctly answer, without help and without mechanical aid, the mathematical skill-testing question found on the entry ticket and moreover, abide by the Rules and Regulations of the Contest. To redeem the prize, present the completed original game card including the correct answer to the mathematical skill-testing question on the game card to any participating sponsor s outlet specifies on the game card in British Columbia only. The prize products must be claimed no later than the due date stated on the game card. The number of prizes available will diminish as the prizes are claimed. One card per person, per transaction, while quantities last. Prizes and game cards have no cash value and are non-transferable and must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions except by the Contest Organizers and Retail sponsors, who Page 1 of 5

2 reserve the right to substitute a prize with equal or greater value. The number of available Scratch & Win prizes will not be reduced as they are won during the contest. Scratch & Win prizes that are not claimed on or before the due date stated on the game card will not be awarded. All Scratch & Win game card received after the due date stated on the game card, at the sole option of Sponsor, will be declared void and ineligible for prizes. Lucky Draw Prizes Description There will be lucky draw prizes available to be won. For a chance to win the draw prizes, fill out the ballot and submit to Sing Tao Daily, 8508 Ash Street, Vancouver, BC V6P 3M2 and you could win one of the lucky draw prizes. All entry tickets must be received by October 22 nd, 2012 at 11:59pm (PST). - Grand prize: One (1) Samsung UN46EH IN 120HZ 1080p LED TV by NCIX. Winners will be selected randomly from all entries received up to the date of October 23 rd, 2011, at 11:59pm (PST) and will be required to bring their identification to claim prize. Draw Date: October 26 th, 2012, at about 12:00 noon, at Sing Tao Daily, 8508 Ash Street, Vancouver, BC. All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of each winner. Notifying Lucky Draw Prize winners Lucky Draw winners list will be published in Sing Tao Daily (Western Edition) on October 28 th, The person who has won the Lucky Draw prize will be contacted by telephone by October 31 st, If (a) that person cannot be reached after one (1) month with reasonable effort; or (b) the Grand Prize Sponsor determines that the qualifying contestant is ineligible according to the official rules; or (c) that person does not comply with the official rules, that contestant will be disqualified. 3 Except where prohibited by law, by claiming a prize, claimants consent (and agree to confirm that consent in writing) to Sponsor s and the Sponsor Affiliates use of their names, pictures, cities of residence, biographical data, voices, photographs and/or images for publicity purposes in all mediums now known or hereafter invented (including on the Internet) carried out by Sponsor or the Sponsor Affiliates, without payment, compensation, notice, review or approval. All entries become the property of Sponsor, which assumes no responsibility for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged, or misdirected entries or prizes. General By participating in this contest, all participants declare that they have read, understood and complied with the contest rules, consent to the use of their name, biographical information and/or likeness for the purposes of advertising and promotion without further compensation, agree to abide by all decisions by the Contest Organizers (which are final), and agree to release and hold harmless Contest Organizers and their affiliates, employees and agencies from any liability in connection with participating in this contest and/or any prize awarded. Scratch & Win game cards obtained through unauthorized sources, or which are not the original or are illegible, altered, reproduced, stolen, forged, counterfeited, irregular, or that contains printing or other errors are void. All entries become the property of the Contest Organizers and none shall be returned. The Contest Organizers are not responsible for prize claims that have been lost, tampered with or ineligible. All decisions of the Contest Organizers shall be final. The Contest Organizers are not responsible for errors in the offer or administration of this contest, including but not limited to, errors in the advertising, the contest rules, the selection and announcement of the winners or the distribution of any prize. In the event that, due to a printing or production error, more than the advertised numbers of prizes are claimed, no more than the number of prizes specified by the rules will be awarded. In any event, only the prizes and quantity of prizes as described in these Official Rules will be available to be awarded in the Game. Sing Tao Daily and its agents are not responsible for printing, distribution or production errors and may terminate or withdraw this contest and/or any Scratch & Win cards found to contain such errors without liability and at their sole discretion. Liability for any misprinted contest piece will be limited to replacement thereof. It is a participant s responsibility to ensure that they have complied with all of the conditions and requirements contained in the Official Rules. Unawarded or unclaimed prizes will not be awarded.
