1 Human Resource Challenges in VUCA and SMAC Business Environment L. Gandhi 1 Today, in fact, we survive in a world of business engineered by two acronyms VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity) and SMAC (Social, Mobile Analytics and Cloud). Employees vary in terms of culture they follow, attitude they possess and value system they believe in. Business organisations do not essentially manage all the internal and external factors that affect the business. SMAC, which appropriately collaborates the confluence of different technologies is driving the industry and its objectives. In this article, the author has made an endeavour to deliberate the acronyms VUCA and SMAC and elaborate their potential challenges to HR Managers. VUCA, SMAC, HR Challenges, Gen-Y, Gen-Z. ' Asst. 2 Understanding Behavioural Intention for Adoption of Mobile Games K. Anil Kumar 1 Subhashree Natarajanm Ph.D. 2 Biswajit Acharjya 3 Games have started dominating social platforms and mobile phones in the recent years. Almost half of the world's population plays games on their mobile and social platforms. This paper focuses on exploring the factors affecting adoption of simulation games by the millennial generation. Drawing on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and use of Technology (UTAUT) and the Information Systems Success (ISS) model, this paper proposes and empirically tests the unified model that renders in drawing the determinant that has the potential to influence behavioural intention to opt for mobile games. Factors like effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions are adopted from UTAUT and system quality, satisfaction and behavioural intention are drawn from ISS. The result indicates that visual appeal of the game has a significant effect on effort expectancy, satisfaction of the game and game system quality. Along with these factors the facilitating condition factor also influences behavioural intention. Social influence and effort expectancy are found to be distinctive in a relationship with behavioural intention. : Behavioural intention, Simulation games, UTAUT, Information systems success model, Satisfaction.. 3 Political Branding in India - A Study Amit Kumar 1 Somesh Dhamija 2 Branding, as a phenomenon, has come to characterize various facets of our life, and politics is no exception. It has reshaped the political equations and has made its presence felt during elections. Nowhere was it more prominent than in the last general election, when brand Modi triumphed over its rival political brands. However, the rise of political branding has found prominence in India only in the recent years. In contrast, the western democracies have borne testimony to it for the past many decades. This research paper aims at bringing to the fore understanding related to political branding and its numerous characteristics. This study is expected to help the readers understand the concept of political branding and relate to its concepts. Branding, Political Branding, Election, Material Cues, Cues. 4 Working Capital Management and Profitability : An Empirical Analysis of Infrastructure Companies Sankalp Geetam 1 Pradeepta Kumar Samanta, Ph.D. 2 Working capital management plays a vital role in any business organisation. It reveals the management's efficiency of decision making regarding short-term financing need of the business. Working capital management of the construction industry differs from that in other industries due to its uniqueness such as legal and tax policy, financial closure, supply chain and logistics, credit policy, political-social-technologicaleconomic condition, stake holders etc. and their relationship with projects. This study focuses on the effect of working capital on the profitability of two infrastructure companies, viz. L&T and NBCCL, for the period The financial data has been collected from the websites of these two companies' and other authorised reports such as balance sheet, profit and loss statement, annual report etc. It was observed that while working capital has an insignificant impact on profitability for some parameters, it has a significant impact on profitability in respect of some other parameters. 5 A Case Study of Technical Indicators with Reference to Nifty E. M. Naresh Babu, Ph.D. 1 G. Savithri 2 The investors now-a-days have numerous alternatives for investment, the most alluring one among them being the stock market. It is considered as one of the most profitable investments in a very short period. In spite of very good yield, investment in the stock markets carries risk on the flip side. There are people who made massive returns in the stock market in a few days, and on the other hand there are many people who went to dust because of stock crash. Stock markets allure investors from one side and alarm investors on the other side. Hence the investors are supposed to be very cautious when they are employing their funds in stock. Many enthusiastic economists put their hand in getting some sort of prediction over the stock markets. Eugune Fama, Charles H. Dow, and Ralph Elliot have contributed a lot to the analysis of stock market performance. They have developed different kinds of patterns, tools and theories, which are relevant in the analysis of stock markets. Fundamental analysts analyse the economy, the industry and the company aspects, while the efficient market theory analyses the flow of information in the market. Technical analysis takes care of the psychological factors while undertaking a market analysis. The present study is an application of technical indicators on Nifty movement in the year Fundamental Analysis, Efficient Market Theory, Technical Analysis, Rate of Change, Relative Strength Index, Moving Averages Convergence and Divergence.. 6 Usage of Mobile Banking in India Bharti Motwani, Ph.D. 1 Mobile banking is an interaction in which a customer is connected to a bank via a mobile device such as a smart phone or a tablet to perform online financial transactions. In fact, almost the full range banking services, except cash transactions, is now available on a smart phone or a tablet through the use of specialized apps. Mobile banking, therefore, plays a pivotal role in the economic development of a country and forms the core of the money market in an advanced country. The main objective of this study is to explore the imperative dimensions that affect attitude of customers towards mobile banking. Data was collected for the purpose using a self structured questionnaire having 55 questions. The study identified seven dimensions, namely Effective Distinctiveness, Professed security, Supportive Access, Immense Efficacy, Innovative Virtual Environment, Enhanced Personalization and Improved Timely Updates, which have a bearing on customer attitude towards mobile banking. 7 Development of Centrally controlled Production Management Methodology for Reducing Production Related Risks : Study of a Cable Manufacturing Unit Shwetank Parihar 1 Chandan Bhar, Ph.D. 2 This study is a step in the direction of automation and central control of a cable manufacturing unit. It includes literature review on issues like uncertainty and risk management in logistics related problems and their variations. The production related parameters were aligned together for designing a production line on ARENA simulation software. An innovative methodology was selected for simulation model in which the suppliers and warehouses were also included. A system was developed for each process of cable production unit. It was then simulated for different parameters for 10,000 hours and observations were made. The results derived from the simulations indicate that this system can be used for central monitoring and development for an assembly line manufacturing system subject to further improvement in logistics in the firm under the study. 8 Models Used for Forecasting Diffusion of Alternate - Fulled Vehicles : A Review Suddhachit Mitra 1 This article intends to review literature on aggregate and disaggregate models in forecasting diffusion of alternate-fuelled vehicles (AFVs). It introduces major aggregate and disaggregate mathematical models (primarily the Bass model and the stated preference models respectively) in diffusion of AFVs and discusses them. The article then reviews the literature, based on certain criteria, that uses these models to study diffusion of AFVs. Four broad themes are identified from the review process, namely, attributes used in the survey, data processing considerations, willingness of consumers to pay, and market share of alternate fuelled vehicles. The treatment of these themes in literature is analysed. The review concludes that improvements in technology, appropriate government policies (such as reduced taxation), and improvement in relevant infrastructure (such as refueling networks) can help alternate fuelled vehicles achieve significant diffusion. Market share of AFVs vary widely across studies and scenarios. This probably is due to the fact that since the technology is new, adequate data to fully exploit the capabilities of the bass model are not available. It is also a fact that almost no data from the developing world is available, and this can be construed as a limitation of the study. The review, although mainly constituted by literature from the developed world, provides a context to policy planners in the developing countries, such as India, that aim to increase penetration of AFVs.
