4 Getting started Activate your Card To activate your Card, please follow the instructions on the sticker attached to it. Unless we agree with your Company otherwise, you will receive your monthly statements online. To ensure you can access them, it is important that you set up your log in details. Please register at americanexpress.co.uk/paperless and have your Card to hand. All you need to do is create a User ID and Password, enter your Card number and provide security information. We will send you a monthly reminder as soon as your latest statement is ready to view. Make the most of the benefits available To be certain of enjoying all the benefits of owning a Platinum Corporate Card, please complete and return the application and enrolment forms at the back of this pack. 13 Business travel protection Peace of mind, wherever you go Travel delays, lost luggage or an unexpected illness none of them need compromise your business trip. As a Platinum Corporate Cardmember, you re protected by a wide range of exclusive business travel insurance cover. No matter how often you do it, nothing takes the risk out of business travel. So it s good to know that your Platinum Corporate Card offers insurance cover for no additional charge. We provide assistance if your baggage gets lost or stolen. We protect you in the event of an accident or illness. And we provide round-the-clock backup in case of a medical, personal or legal emergency. Worldwide business travel insurance* Medical Cover* Should you fall ill or be injured while travelling, American Express will be with you, every step of the way. Our Medical cover includes a 24-hour travel helpline. At your request, we will: Arrange for you to see a doctor, or other medical professional (as appropriate) Arrange hospital admission for you, if required Arrange medical treatment for you Cover the cost of medical expenses, up to 2,000,000 Manage repatriation getting you home as soon as possible 11

14 Enhanced Travel Insurance Cover* Platinum Cardmember travel insurance cover provides round-the-clock assistance, to help you should the worst happen when you are on a trip. Call us if you are taken ill while travelling, and we will arrange for you to be cared for by a medical professional. Contact us in a legal emergency, and we can provide relevant advice, and help you locate a lawyer. Let us know if you need something sent to you in a hurry, and we ll take care of the logistics. For assistance, call the Platinum Corporate Service Team on (International +44 (0) ) and select the option for insurance/a medical emergency. Travel Inconvenience Insurance* No one enjoys seeing their flight delayed, or their luggage get lost or stolen. But if these things do happen, American Express is on hand to provide valuable assistance, helping to get you up and running again as soon as possible. If you book flights using your Platinum Corporate Card, our insurance provides: 300 if your flight is delayed by more than four hours 300 if you miss your connection 300 if your luggage is delayed by more than six hours A further 750 if you don t receive your luggage within 48 hours Personal Belongings, Money and Travel Documents Insurance* You are protected for up to 3,500 (maximum 500 per item and 500 for money and travel documents) per trip in the event of personal belongings, money or travel documents being lost, stolen or damaged. Car Rental Insurance* If your rental car is stolen or damaged, we provide up to 50,000 against any claims or excesses under your rental agreement. This applies whether or not you are responsible for the accident. Up to five drivers can be included in one rental agreement. Travel Accident Insurance* We pay up to 450,000 if you suffer loss of life, sight or limb while travelling on any recognised airline. Business Travel Accident Insurance* We pay up to 225,000 if you suffer loss of life, sight or limb, or permanent disablement while on a trip of up to 30 days duration, increasing to 450,000 when travelling on public transportation. 15 Additional security Card Defence Card Defence protects you in the event of your corporate or personal credit cards, or travel documents, becoming mislaid or stolen. To take advantage of Card Defence: Register all of your cards, plus important documents (passport, driving licence, and so on), on our website If any of these items are then lost or stolen, contact Card Defence All lost or stolen cards will immediately be blocked (saving you the hassle of calling all your card providers) Replacement cards will be ordered Details of lost documents can be faxed or posted to the nearest embassy, consulate, car hire company or anywhere else they are needed To register for Card Defence, please visit americanexpress.co.uk/corporateplatinum and go to Card Defence Chip & PIN Your American Express Platinum Corporate Card uses Chip and PIN technology to enhance security and convenience. Once you have activated your Card, you can personalise your PIN at any UK LINK ATM offering PIN services. If you enter an incorrect PIN three times, your Card will be temporarily locked. If this happens, contact us for a PIN reminder. Use this to unlock your Card at any UK LINK ATM that offers PIN services, by following the on-screen instructions. Remember to keep your PIN secret, and to sign the signature strip on the back of your Card. When using your Card to make purchases abroad, you might be asked for your signature, rather than entering a PIN. If your Card is lost or stolen, or you believe someone else knows your PIN, contact us immediately on International callers should dial +44 (0) We will issue a new Card or PIN, depending on the circumstances. When purchasing goods and services by phone, mail or online, provide only the 15-digit number on the front of the Card, and the security code, if requested. You should never be asked to reveal your PIN when making a remote purchase. 13

So enjoy your down time, with American Express Membership Rewards Earn Membership Rewards points** Your Platinum Corporate Card comes with complimentary membership of the American Express loyalty programme, Membership Rewards. Unless your company has elected not to participate in the scheme, that means you can earn loyalty points on almost every kind of business expense. You earn Membership Rewards points for every full pound of eligible spend on your Platinum Corporate Card. So the tally soon adds up. Better still, if you are a member of one our partners frequent traveller programmes, and pay for their services using your Platinum Corporate Card, you ll enjoy double the rewards frequent traveller points, and Membership Rewards points, too. Your time is precious. Your leisure time even more so. Membership Rewards points ensure you can make the most of it... with Complimentary flights, hotel stays and other attractive options. 18 Redeeming your Membership Rewards points for travel You have three options when it comes to converting your Membership Rewards points into flights, hotel stays or car hire. Book any time, to anywhere You can redeem Membership Rewards points for just about any kind of travel. Use them to arrange hotel accommodation, organise car hire, or book flights on almost any airline. You can make bookings at short notice, and you don t need to belong to a frequent traveller programme to pay using your Membership Rewards points. Simply provide your Membership Rewards account details when making a purchase. If you don t have enough points, you can pay the difference using your Platinum Corporate Card. Transfer your points to a frequent traveller programme This option works well if you already travel regularly with any of our partner airlines (including Virgin Atlantic, British Airways and Air France), or stay frequently at our hotel partners (including Hilton, Starwood, and Radisson). Increase your points tally with any of these partners by transferring your Membership Rewards points into their frequent traveller programmes. Redeem with our travel rewards partners You can redeem your points for one-off flights, hotel stays or car hire with our travel rewards partners, including Flybe, Sol Melia Hotels & Resorts, Kempinski Hotels, Avis and Hertz. 22 Manage your account Manage your account at a time that suits you, by signing up to our online services at americanexpress.co.uk/myaccount. You ll be asked to set login details on your first visit. After that, you can view up-to-date statements and billing information, make payments, and view your Membership Rewards account 24 hours a day. Paper statements are available at no extra cost. Personal Assistant Option If you wish, you can nominate your Personal Assistant to administer and service your Platinum Corporate Card on your behalf. To do so, please complete and return the application form that was supplied with this pack. Express Cash *** Withdrawals Access 550,000 ATMS around the world, with Express Cash from American Express. Unless a specific limit has been set by your company, you can use your Corporate Platinum Card to withdraw up to 1,000 per week in local currency.
