49 Manufacturg Procedure For Pipes / Tubes Hot Rolled Coils : HR Coils for production of pipes will be procured from SABIC/ JSW/ TATA or any other approved vender. The steel shall be of fully killed, with gra size ASTM or fer as per ASTM E 11. Mechanical properties of HR Coil material shall confirm to TDC of raw material / applicable standard. Formg of Pipe : Slit is passed through horizontal and vertical formg rolls to receive a defed diameter open edge round pipe suitable for weldg. At the fal stage of formg, rolls are provided with guide fs to have a proper proportionate gap & correct entry weldg roll. End chamferg Square cut Bevellg Hydrostatic g : Cut cleanly and nomally square with the axis of the pipe and free from burrs. : Each pipe is transferred to end preparation stand where both ends of the pipe are bevelled at an angle 30,-0/+5 degree with root face 0.03 ± (1.0, ±0.80). : Pipes are taken from mill as per plan. Clean the ternal dia of pipe properly to avoid any chips and ID bead. The requirements (test pressure & holdg time) are verified as per applicable standards. Pipes are checked for any leakage durg testg. Weldg Seam Normalisg : The performed shape of pipe is fally passed through weldg heads V edges controlled by the seam guide. The weldg process is ERW with high frequency duction welder. The fusion takes place through five roll assembly set at the Mill which ensures proper weldg. Bead scarfg shall be done as per applicable standard & Client specification. Weldg parameters, like-current, voltage, weldg speed and heat treatment temperature shall be monitored. The weldg temperature shall be adequate to form weld. By controllg various controllg parameters, desired weldg quality is achieved. : Seam normalisg is carried out on weld and HAZ after the weldg. The normalisg equipment is based on medium frequency. Seam normalisg temperature is monitored by the non contact temperature dicator. Fal Inspection Markg/ Labellg Storage, Packg and Handlg g : Dimension of pipe shall be measured by calibrated gauges and acceptance as per the applicable standard. : The relevant markg stipulated applicable standard / specification shall be Pat / Inkjet stencilled on each length of the pipe. Additionally, the pipes shall be bundled as per Client requirement and each bundle tagged with permanent & legible label at both end. : Sufficient care should be exercised while storg, packg and handlg of products. While storg and transportg them, adequate ventilation should be provided. It is necessary to store galvanized pipes with space between them. : Materials testg like Flatteng, Tensile, Impact, Metallographic & Chemical analysis are carried out as per work struction / applicable standard.
